Home Interior Ideas for Spring

Although it doesn't seem like it with all the snow and rain we've been having lately, we are now well into Spring and with the change of season I want a change of interiors. A change in interiors doesn't have to mean a complete overhaul as there are simple things that you can do to make a huge difference to a room.

When we bought our house two years ago I was in control of every little aspect of the renovation, from the colour of the grout of the bathroom tiles through to the colour of the garden fence! I loved having having the ability to do this and although it was a lot of hard work our home is now exactly how I wanted it to be. Our dining room currently has oak floors and neutral earth tones decor which can be warming and cosy in the colder months but now we are in Spring I think a little change is on the cards.

1. Feature wall
Our alcoves are currently painted a latte colour as you can see in the photo above which I did originally like but now I want to completely repaint them with a bright colour like yellow, orange or even green. I think this would really make the room pop and brighten it up a lot in these warmer months.

2. Flooring

We currently have laminated wood effect flooring which was a great temporary fix but recently we've been looking at investing in Engineered Oak Flooring as it would really complete the room and also add value to our home. I'm also looking into underfloor heating too as our dining room is notorious for being a bit chilly, even in Spring!

3. Accent pieces
Another quick and easy way to give a room a little overhaul without spending a small fortune is buy buying accent pieces. Vases, candles, ornaments, rugs, photo frames, canvases and so on. All of these can be picked up for next to nothing at places like Wilko's or B&M Bargains.

Do you have any ideas that you would like to share? I would love to hear them if you do!

  5. We've lived in our house for a year and only just started renovating. At first it was frustrating but now I can totally see where we are headed. We are also looking at underfloor heating and oak floors for our dining room :)

  6. I got some photo wall paper for our feature wall - its brill it was easy to hang and relatively cheap I paid around £20 for it - we currently have a forest scene which looks fab really bright and different - I also change our soft furnishings to match and recover the computer chair and foot stool - both super easy to do with a staple gun and come nice material
