Miles Kelly Convertible Playbook - Review & Competition

I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. Noah enjoys his books too, perhaps not as much as I did but he still gets so much joy from them. For these reasons I love working with publishers and a favourite of mine has got to be Miles Kelly. Not only do they produce the most fantastic books but their PR team are fabulous too, it's always a pleasure to work with them.

Miles Kelly recently brought out a new range of convertible playbooks and I was sent one of each to try out. The convertible playbooks are storybooks for children from 3 years old and onward. These are more than just a book because they easy folds into buildings and contain little pop out characters too. There are so many ways that children can enjoy these playbooks.

As you can see by the photo's above the playbooks are regular books and contain a story but there are also instructions inside which are to help you with setting up the playbook and character aspect to it. I decided to review the farm playbook for the purpose of this review and I decided to set it up whilst Noah was napping and it was really straight forward and easy to do.

Noah has thoroughly enjoyed the farm playbook and has had hours of fun with it. His favourite things to do is to create his own little stories, put all the animals inside the barn one by one and of course make all the animal noises.

I think the convertible playbooks are such a great idea, they add a new dynamic to story telling and they are fantastic for imaginative play too.
There are lots of details on the book and there are also a lot of different characters included too. I do have to add that the figures can fall down easily if your child is heavy handed like Noah is but he soon learnt that he needed to be a bit more gentle with them.

There are currently three convertible playbooks to choose from, a castle, farm and firehouse but I imagine more will be added to the range in the future as they are wonderful. They usually cost £14.99 but at the moment are on sale for just £11.00 each.

  35. I think it would be :- The Health Centre. As we do need to look after our Health. It would introduce children to the idea of visiting the Health Centre, being taken by a Responsible Adult (Parent, Carer etc). Waiting patiently in the waiting area, toys and books available to pass the time (Mum might have packed some refreshments for the wait, may have some of the child's own toys etc). Meeting Doctor, Health Visitor etc. Some of Doctors equipment e.g. stethoscope and what it is used for etc.

Books, and interactive toys which help prepare for new enviroments, situations etc can help to make it easier for the child to be involved and relaxed :- As knows what to expect, and that they are safe and secure (Responsible Adult etc).
