World Of Snacks - Review & Competition

If you know me you will know my love of subscription boxes, especially when they involve food glorious food! Even more so when the subscription service is no contract and you can cancel at any time, World of Snacks offer all this and a whole lot more. Every month a box of snacks is delivered to your door and every month the contents are themed around a different country and their sweet and savoury snacks. A one off box costs £13.99 and contains a minimum of 8 snacks and subscriptions start at £39.00.

I was recently sent a box to review and wasn't sure what theme would arrive. Much to my delight it was a Japanese box which was their first ever box. It was absolutely filled to the brim with exciting and rather interesting looking snacks. I've wanted to try Japanese snacks for quite some time as they seem to be all the rage at the moment, I was really looking forward to sampling them all.

Giant CaplicoThis wafer cone is filled with strawberry flavoured bubble chocolate, similar to an Aero! With a chocolate centre and strawberry casing this is a different, fun, crispy, and sweet treat.

Panda Chocolate Wafer - A very cute panda face wafer cake. This wafer cake has a new and improved recipe with a crunchy wafer layer and a wonderfully fluffy and light, airy milk and white chocolate outer design. There's even a cute panda face on the back!

Hello Panda - I was already familiar with this product having tried to chocolate variety before so I was happy to see this flavour included. They are crunchy biscuits with a tasty strawberry filling.

Black Thunder Chocolate Bar - This is a cocoa flavoured cookie bar mixed with Japanese style rice puffs, coated with chocolate. I passed on this one but my partner really liked it.

Matcha Green Tea Kitkat - Kitkats are very popular in Japan and the Matcha Green Tea KitKats are a regional variety from Kyoto. These bars are covered in a green coloured white chocolate made with real matcha green tea. These had my partner and I divided as I found the taste very strange but he really enjoyed them.

Pocky Sticks - Two packs are included within the Japanese box, the original chocolate flavor and strawberry. Pocky sticks are very popular in Japan and have spread all over Asia. Both flavours were great and enjoyed by all the family.

DIY Gummy Candy - Designed to replicate the look and feel of a sushi shop, this exciting and colourful packet contains pieces of gummy candy in plum, lemon, and banana flavours, shaped like balls of rice and different types of nigiri sushi toppings. Simply lay a piece of topping over a ball of rice, press down, and enjoy your sushi. I didn't get a look in with this as my son spotted it and claimed it for his own.

Little Bobdog Cola Candy Sticks - Six pieces of hard candy sticks. With a refreshing cola flavour and moreishly crunchy.

Soda Soft Centred Chewing Gum - Gum balls with a gooey soda paste centre. The bubble gum balls come nestled in a small plastic tray. Watch out though because one of the three tasty bubble gum treats is actually a super sour flavour sweet in disguise!

Peko and Hello Kitty Lollipops - This lollipop candy has well balanced refreshing flavour of matcha green tea and Milky flavour together. Also, from the same brand the sensationally chewy milky sweets combine the sweet creaminess of sweetened condensed milk with the refreshing flavour of Uji Matcha green tea.

Plum Seasoned Wakame Seaweed - This pack contains individual packets of wakame seaweed stems that have been boiled to a slightly softened consistency that still offers a satisfying bite, then salted and seasoned with a plum vinegar seasoning. Not to my taste but very interesting to try!

Spicy Burdock - Turn up the heat with these spicy pickled burdock snacks! These pieces of burdock have been pickled in a Japanese pickling solution of soy sauce, salt and vinegar, then seasoned with spicy ichimi togarashi chilli pepper and bonito fish flakes. My partner was brave enough to try this and he said never again! You know these won't be to your taste when you read the description but just had to try them none the less!

World of Snacks first box was very impressive and I really think they are onto a interesting concept and one that works too. I really enjoyed the choice of snacks they included in the box and I thought it was also great value for money. I'll be following them closely as I'm really interested to see what country they will decide to do next!

I've always liked Sweden - I assumed you meant country although the question says county. If we go county then it would be Yorkshire (a country in its own right!!)
