Blaze and the Monster Machines Animal Island Stunts Speedway - Review

Last week saw the arrival of a very fun toy to review, the
Blaze and the Monster Machines Animal Island Stunts Speedway. When it arrived I couldn't wait to show Noah because's he's just starting to get into Blaze and the Monster Machines and with his love of cars I just knew it would go down a storm. As soon as he set eyes on the box, he smiled from ear to ear which was a great start!

On opening the box I was a little taken a back by all the pieces that had to be assembled but it didn't take me five minutes to put together and that was with the help of my soon to be four year old son!

Once everything was set up I was surprised by how big the play set was, it was bigger than I imagined and some parts cannot be removed once put together. Though that's not a problem for me as I'm used to having toys taking over every room in the house, it's a given with two children! Also to note, sometimes with large play sets the quality of the toy and the material that's used is pretty poor quality but that's not the case with this set, it's very well made and sturdy. As you can see it's quite an attractive play set to look at, we were all very impressed with it.

The Blaze and the Monster Machines Animal Island Stunts Speedway features a large scale track set designed for use with the Blaze die-cast vehicles. This set comes with an exclusive Lion Blaze vehicle and there are other die-cast Monster Machines which can be collected and used on the track too. We are looking to buy Noah a couple more for his birthday.

There are multiple ways to play with this set, with not one but four exciting stunt roads; the tumbling tree fall, vertical drop, upside down S-curve and bridge and waterfall jump through crashing doors. Noah really enjoys choosing the stunt that Blaze will do next. From placing the monster machine at the very top of the mountain and down the tumbling tree track to taking a nose dive straight off the edge of the cliff and driving upside down! Speaking of which, the upside down S-curve had both myself, my partner and Noah all shouting "WOAH!" when we first saw it! Noah's actually setting Blaze up for the S-curve on the photo above, it's so fast that he's just a blur in the shot!

We've had hours of fun with this set with all the different stunt tracks but if we ever wanted to add more options there's other Blaze and the Monster Machine sets which we can connect at a later date. There are of course sold separately, as are the additional Monster Machine vehicles.

The Fisher-Price Blaze Playset retails at £49.99 and is suitable from 3 years +. It's a great toy, one which we've all really enjoyed playing with over the past week. I think it'd make one awesome present for both boys and girls this Christmas.

- We were sent this product for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.

  1. What fun. The popularity of transport toys is enduring so they are always a winner. Lovely photos.

  2. Looks like great fun. Nice that Nick and yourself played along with Noah. Thanks for sharing fact that once assembled some parts cannot be disassembled. As people vary in their priorities and preferences. Some like to tidy away everything, whilst others may appreciate sturdiness which comes with such play set.
