Peppa Pig – Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse - Review

AD - I received these products for the purpose of this review.

Peppa Pig is just as popular now as she was 10 years ago, kids cannot get enough. There's something about that little cheeky pig that seems to appeal to most children, my kids being two of them. Peppa is the only TV show they'll happily watch together and they really enjoy playing together with the Peppa playsets that we already own.

Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse comes flat-packed, in a large, heavy box. It features half a dozen different pieces which need to be screwed together so I left the job to Nick. He waited until the kids were in bed and then got to work. It comes with easy to follow instructions and it took him 45 minutes to put together. I think that's a reasonable amount of time considering the sheer size of it - it stands at around 75cm tall and 57cm across.

The wooden playhouse is a real showstopper once put together, it looks very impressive! There are 8 rooms to explore, over three floors, each designed to look just like Peppa's house.
It has great attention to detail here. Ava noticed Mr. Skinnylegs (the spider) in the loft and the muddy puddle in the bathroom right away.

Included with the set are 25 different plastic accessories to dress the house and two-character figures to roleplay with. Included with the accessories are three interactive pieces of furniture; a glowing stove with sound effects, a bedside table which plays lullabies, and Mummy Pig's computer that lights up. There's also a phone holder in the living room which is supposed to act as a TV on the wall but isn't something that my children will use. Initially, the amount of furniture looked great but once I'd placed them into the house I thought some rooms looked pretty empty.

Ava also noticed how Mummy and Daddy Pig were displayed on the box, but aren't included in the set. Thankfully, she didn't mind the empty spaces or lack of Mummy and Daddy Pig - those are just things that parents tend to pick up on. We own a couple of other Peppa Pig playsets and figures and they fit really well within the house and add even more elements of play.

I only introduced Peppa's Wooden Playhouse to Ava this morning and she's already had hours and hours of play with it. We sat together creating our own Peppa Pig stories and scenarios which mainly involved in me being Peppa Pig and Ava being George sending me to bed! Noah also made a beeline for it when he got home from school and likes it just as much as Ava.

Overall I'm impressed with this toy, yes, there are things I would have like to have seen included, but it's gone down a storm with both Noah and Ava. I'd go as far as saying it's one of their favourite review toys to date, that's no mean feat. Peppa's Wooden Playhouse is suitable for children from 3 years of age, retails at £99.99 and is available at Smyths or online at Amazon.

  1. Looks a good sized product, which could provide lots of opportunities for play, role play. Wondering once it is put together :- Can it be dismantled for e.g. House move, room change, room decoration, etc.

  9. I love the fact it came with a starter pack and has a mix glowing stove and a lullaby bedside table. It’s a shame that for the price and size that once you put all the pieces in it looked a bit empty and that things on the box weren’t included but I, glad Ava loved it.

  12. ' Home from Home' :- Wondering if there is a portable version of house / home, for Peppa Pig and her family. As can be nice to have a portable toy set, as can then take it to Gran's, etc.
