TabletTV - Review

TabletTV is a nifty little gadget which allows you to watch and record Freeview TV on your tablet of choice. It’s Wi-Fi connection tunes in to your iOS tablet via an downloadable app. No internet connection is required, just a signal from the Freeview TV and you are good to go!

Getting started.
Once the TabletTV arrived all I needed to do was plug it into my laptop to start charging the device and whilst I was waiting I downloaded the app onto my iPad. When it had fully charged I simply turned it on, set it up and clicked on the app. You have to confirm that you do have a TV licence but once you have done so you are able to watch dozens of channels for free from Freeview.

Viewing.
Once everything is set up you are ready to go! All you need to do is make sure you have a decent signal, which is easy to do then open the app. There you can choose from hundreds of different tv channels and radio stations to view at your own pleasure.

Recording.
Not only can you view freeview directly onto your tablet using the TabletTV tuner but you can also record programme's too. I think this is great because I’m one of those people who always wants to watch three different things at once. It's very straight forward to record and my favourite feature from this clever little gadget.

What we thought.
Free TV channels steamed directly to your tablet wherever and whenever. What is not to like about that? I think it's a genius piece of tech.

The fact that you can record shows as well as watching them is a huge selling point for me.

I also like how you can share what you are watching via the social media button. I always like to share new shows that I am watching so this is a nice added feature.

5 things to do this Summer

Although the weather has been a little hit and miss lately summer is officially here. Even though one week we have sun and then the next we have rain I am attempting to be proactive when it comes to making plans for this season.

Here are 5 things that we want to do this summer.

Have a couple of BBQ's.
It's not summer without a family BBQ or two. There's just something about lounging around the garden, with the grill on and a refreshing drink in your hand. As soon as the sun is out I am the first to suggest a BBQ and we had our very first of the year a couple of days ago, it was heaven.

Bring out the paddling pool

Another past time which just screams summer to me is splashing in a paddling pool. I have so many fond memories from my childhood of having fun in the pool with my siblings. It's the perfect way to spend hot days as it's a great way to keep the kids entertained while keeping them cool too.

Plan a day out

We spend a lot of time in our garden and at local nature parks but it's nice to get out and about too. We've been looking at various experience days as we would love to do something a little different this summer. I would love to book a have a pamper day with my Mum or even be a Zoo keeper for the day.

Visit local nature attractions.
As a family we love to explore. We are all very outdoorsy and spend the majority of our time outside in the fresh air. One benefit of living in Lancashire is that there are many nature attractions that we can visit at the drop of a hat.

Book a holiday
We haven't been abroad for four years now and really want to take Noah away this year. We have been looking to book for September this year so it's certainly on my Summer to do list.

Do you have any plans for the Summer?

Metcalfe's Skinny - Review

I've been dieting, watching what I eat and exercising more for the past couple of months in an effort to loose weight and to become fitter. So far I have lost 18 lb's and I feel so motivated to keep on track.

Although I am eating better I do like the odd treat every now and again and two of my favourite kind of treats has got to be popcorn and crisps. Recently Metcalfe's Skinny were kind enough to send me a box of their products to try out and I couldn't wait to dive in.

What I love about Metcalfe's Skinny is that they offer a healthier alternative to our indulgent treats. I was already a huge fan of their Skinny Topcorn but was excited to try out the different products they had included.

Metcalfe's Skinny Ricecakes-
We all are all fan of ricecakes in this house. These are such a lovely treat to have after a meal as they are filling and give you that sweet kick without being too overloaded with calories, sugar and fat.

Metcalfe's Skinny Topcorn
This is my favourite popcorn, ever! Especially the sweet and salt because I love that you can have both savory and sweet in the same bag. I didn't try the wasabi glaze but Nick really enjoyed them and he isn't a popcorn person! Says it all really.

Metcalfe's Skinny Corn'ers-
Crisps are my absolute downfall when it comes to healthy eating so when I saw these I was so excited to try them. It was great to have that crisp fix without any guilt. They were great with a side of hummus and I will certainly be buying them again.

Metcalfe's Skinny Corncakes-
Last but not least we have the corncakes and these were nice, albeit a little different. They are a little tougher than usual ricecakes but equally as yummy!

Project 365 - Week 27 - 27/52

28th June - 4th July / Week 27

179
Noah spent the afternoon with his Nanna like he does most Sundays. He absolutely loves this time and is always spoilt rotten. When he came back we decided to take a little walk and have some Mummy, Noah time.

Monday we missed playgroup again, oops. He always tends to sleep in on a Monday as he is worn out from the weekend so we struggle to make it on time. We spent most the day playing out and having fun. It's impossible to keep this boy indoors!

 181
Tuesday we had a pretty chilled out day. Here is Noah having fun in the garden as per usual!

182
Pool party! Well sort of! I transformed the front garden into a little haven for Noah and his friends. Paddling pool, water table, slide. All three boys had so much fun and it was just endearing watching them all play together and enjoy it. I then brought out a little picnic and they gobbled it up in the shade.

Thursday was fab! We went on a little adventure. A long walk through the woods, a trip to the park and even had a little lunch date too. It was a little cooler today and we did enjoy the breeze. I love days like this. I sat there and I was just so grateful for everything that we share.

Friday, family day! I love that Nick finishes work at lunch time on a Friday. We always try to make the most of our afternoons. We went for a lovely walk through the woods and then let Noah run wild around the fields. He loves being outdoors.

185
Saturday we had an impromptu BBQ in the front garden. Nothing sums up the sunny months more than BBQ's and paddling pools.
What have you been up to this week?

Guilty pleasures, hot weather and trash TV - #littleloves

Read
Can you believe that 5 months later I am still reading Divergent? By the time I crawl into bed at night it's way past midnight and too late to read. That being said I do try to squeeze in a chapter here and there but usually end up nodding off. I miss reading like I used to, I was such a bookworm.

Watched
If you know me then you will know my guilty pleasure of reality tv shows. Lately I have be glued to the screen not just watching Big Brother but Love Island too, slightly embarrassing but there you go! I'm really hoping that Nick win's BBUK this year as he's such a gentle and nervous soul, I just want to mother him!

Wore
With it being so hot lately I have been trying to keep cool in summer dresses and shades. Though I do need to purchase some new sun glasses from Optical Express as Noah decided to borrow mine and I have no idea what he has done with them.

Heard
Another guilty pleasure is this song! Has it got stuck in your head yet?

Made
I've lost count of the amount of picnics I've made these past couple of weeks. With the weather being so nice we've been making the most of it by getting out and about every day. We've been taking our lunch to go and have been enjoying our picnics here, there and everywhere.

And lastly
Summer is here! Finally!
We've transformed our front garden into a little haven for Noah and his friends. We have a slide, water table and paddling pool and they have all been having a blast.

Have you been enjoying the weather?
