Peppa's Day at the Zoo & Peppa Pig Classic Car - Review

AD - We were sent these products for the purpose of this review.

Ava is one of Peppa Pig's biggest fans - I think she'd spend all day watching the show on TV if I let her. Her love of the show has well and truly made her obsessed with all things Peppa - she has Peppa bedding, clothing, books, pens, and of course toys! With this in mind, I was more than happy to accept two new Peppa Pig toys to review.

Character Toys recently released a dozen new playsets to their already extensive range of Peppa Pig toys - all the new products have a vehicle and storybook theme which adds a whole new element to play. We received the Classic Car with Peppa Pig and Peppa's Day at the Zoo playsets - both looked fantastic and Ava couldn't wait to play with them.

The Peppa Pig Classic Car set consists of yes, you guessed it, Peppa Pig and her family's famous little red car. It's suitable for children from 3 years of age and retails at £11.00. There's a large space in the driver's seat, ready and waiting for Mummy or Daddy Pig to buckle up and drive away - though they aren't included with the set. The passenger seats are just the right size for Peppa as they are to scale to the figures. Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, George, and friends can be purchased with other playsets.

Peppa's Day at the Zoo set is so much fun and the one that Ava wanted to open first. The set includes x3 character; Peppa Pig, Gerald Giraffe, and Mr. Lion, a zoo sign, zoo cart, tortoise, and butterfly cage. Again, this toy is suitable for children from 3 years of age and retails at £13.00. Mr. Lion looks amazing and is a real showstopper - Ava hasn't put him down since she opened the pack this morning. How cool is he?

Ava has had so much fun playing with these sets this afternoon - it's been a joy watching her create different role-play scenarios with the different characters and accessories. It's also great how these playsets can be interchanged and the more sets you have, the more fun you'll have! You can purchase Peppa's Day at the Zoo Book & Peppa Pig Classic Car online at Argos.

Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics & Peppa Pig's Sing & Learn Microphone - Review & Giveaway

AD - We were sent this product for the purpose of this review.

Peppa Pig is like marmite to parents, however, she is a national treasure to children across the UK! In fact, I don't know one child that doesn't adore that little pink pig! There's a three year age gap between Noah and Ava so there are not many interests that they share but Peppa is one of them. Although Noah is almost six years old, he'll happily sit and watch it with Ava. With them both being such fans I was more than happy to review a couple of Peppa toys from the Trends UK early learning range.

Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics
Perfect for Peppa fans from 3 years of age, youngsters can laugh, have fun and learn with Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics. It's an eye-catching, attractive and lightweight looking toy, which is very on-brand with the colours, and font of the letters on the buttons. It features most of the Peppa Pig characters that children adore and it has a handy volume setting which means we can turn it down and the kids can play quietly.

Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics has seven different games, each targeting specific learning areas. It helps to teach vocabulary skills, early word and letter recognition, memory and concentration skills, listening and understanding, and communication skills. There's even a musical feature too! The handles make it great to carry around the home or to take out and about. Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics retails at £17.99 and can be purchased online. Please note that the 3 x AAA batteries are not included.

Peppa Pig's Sing & Learn Microphone
As soon as I spotted the Peppa Pig's Sing & Learn Microphone I knew that it would be popular with Ava - she loves Peppa and she loves to sing! The microphone is brightly coloured and well made, with easy to press chunky buttons and is just the right size for little hands. There are two modes of play; quiz time and sing-along. During quiz mode Peppa asks numerous questions, testing children's observation and listening skills. In sing-along mode, there are 7 different songs to sing along to! Songs featured are; Recycling song, Bing bong song, Birdy woof woof, Big Balloon, Train song, Rainbow song and Wheels on the bus.

Not only is the Peppa Pig's Sing & Learn Microphone lots of fun it's ideal for learning too. It also helps build early number and colour recognition, hand-eye coordination, and helps to build communication skills. Suitable for children from 2 years of age, it retails at a reasonable £12.99 and can be purchased online.

These toys have been immensely popular with Ava, she's played with them every day since they arrived. The Peppa's Laugh & Learn Alphaphonics has already taught her so many words that she didn't know, like volcano and yacht - I can see her getting many more years of play out of it.

Peppa Pig – Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse - Review

AD - I received these products for the purpose of this review.

Peppa Pig is just as popular now as she was 10 years ago, kids cannot get enough. There's something about that little cheeky pig that seems to appeal to most children, my kids being two of them. Peppa is the only TV show they'll happily watch together and they really enjoy playing together with the Peppa playsets that we already own.

Peppa’s Wooden Playhouse comes flat-packed, in a large, heavy box. It features half a dozen different pieces which need to be screwed together so I left the job to Nick. He waited until the kids were in bed and then got to work. It comes with easy to follow instructions and it took him 45 minutes to put together. I think that's a reasonable amount of time considering the sheer size of it - it stands at around 75cm tall and 57cm across.

The wooden playhouse is a real showstopper once put together, it looks very impressive! There are 8 rooms to explore, over three floors, each designed to look just like Peppa's house.
It has great attention to detail here. Ava noticed Mr. Skinnylegs (the spider) in the loft and the muddy puddle in the bathroom right away.

Included with the set are 25 different plastic accessories to dress the house and two-character figures to roleplay with. Included with the accessories are three interactive pieces of furniture; a glowing stove with sound effects, a bedside table which plays lullabies, and Mummy Pig's computer that lights up. There's also a phone holder in the living room which is supposed to act as a TV on the wall but isn't something that my children will use. Initially, the amount of furniture looked great but once I'd placed them into the house I thought some rooms looked pretty empty.

Ava also noticed how Mummy and Daddy Pig were displayed on the box, but aren't included in the set. Thankfully, she didn't mind the empty spaces or lack of Mummy and Daddy Pig - those are just things that parents tend to pick up on. We own a couple of other Peppa Pig playsets and figures and they fit really well within the house and add even more elements of play.

I only introduced Peppa's Wooden Playhouse to Ava this morning and she's already had hours and hours of play with it. We sat together creating our own Peppa Pig stories and scenarios which mainly involved in me being Peppa Pig and Ava being George sending me to bed! Noah also made a beeline for it when he got home from school and likes it just as much as Ava.

Overall I'm impressed with this toy, yes, there are things I would have like to have seen included, but it's gone down a storm with both Noah and Ava. I'd go as far as saying it's one of their favourite review toys to date, that's no mean feat. Peppa's Wooden Playhouse is suitable for children from 3 years of age, retails at £99.99 and is available at Smyths or online at Amazon.

Getting Ready For Back To School With Peppa Pig - #PeppaBackToSchool

AD - We were sent these products for the purpose of this post.

We've almost made it, it's almost time for the kids to go back to school! Woohoo! I'm saying that in jest of course. We've had a fantastic summer and really enjoyed the quality time together, without school or nursery getting in the way. This time next week Noah will be back in school and at the same time, I'll be starting the nursery admission process for Ava. With two big changes on the horizon, I was delighted to receive a huge bundle of Peppa Pig goodies to help prepare the kids for the next stage in their lives and to enjoy in the lead up to it.

The first two products are two essentials needed for both school and nursery, a lunch bag and a drinks bottle. The Peppa Pig lunch bag retails at £9.99 and is available at CDS (The Range), John Lewis, Amazon and at Peppa Pig World. The matching Peppa Pig drinks bottle retails at £4.99 and can be ordered online at Amazon or at Peppa Pig World. I adore the design and colours on them, they make a change from being just bright pink. Noah and Ava have been sharing the since they arrived, though I think Ava has claimed them! She's really taken a shine to the lunch bag in particular.

Next, we have the Count with Peppa toy and Peppa Pig memory game, two fantastic products. We reviewed the Count With Peppa Toy a few months ago which you can read here. It's a fun, engaging, interactive learning toy and the Noah and Ava play with it all the time. It retails at £19.99 and is available online at Argos. The Peppa Pig Memory game, on the other hand, was new to us and the kids really enjoy playing it together. It costs just £3.99 and can be bought online or instore at Smyths.

Another back to school essential has got to be name labels. We received a couple of sheets of iron and stick-on labels for both Noah and Ava and they are just the ticket for labeling everything, from, water bottles and lunch boxes, through to school pumps and sweaters. Stickerscape name labels come in an array of different designs, are superb quality and prices start at £7.95. I've already stuck half a dozen on their drinks bottles, next up is the iron in uniform labels.

The My First Peppa Pig Activity Calendar was something that really caught Noah's eye and was one of the first things we opened. It's a large plastic calendar which can be hung up, or propped up on a shelf. It's a great resource for teaching children about dates, seasons, weather, temperatures, and so on. We filled ours out together and now it's now proudly on display in our kitchen. The Peppa Pig calendar costs £8.99 and is available on Amazon.

Wellkid Peppa Pig Multivitamins were a nice addition to our box of back to school goodies and brought a smile to my face. He has quite a balanced diet but I do like to include vitamins as extra support to his nutritional needs. Noah tends to have his daily vitamin after a hearty breakfast before he starts his day. You can purchase these vitamins from Holland and Barrett for £7.95.

Last, but certainly not least is the Peppa Pig stationary set and the Peppa Pig pencil case which retails at £1.50 and £3.00 and both are available from Asda. Together, they make a great back to school bundle and one that doesn't break the bank either. Noah has used them quite a few times over the past couple of days, practicing his writing and doodling some sketches.

Are you ready for back to school? Which do you like the look of the most?

Tommy's Danceathon with Babyballet

You may be shocked to learn that 1 in 4 women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth, especially in this day and age. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies.

This week, in partnership with Babyballet, Tommy's are hosting a charity fundraiser called Danceathon. Danceathon is a special Peppa Pig themed week of Babyballet classes with one goal in mind, to raise lots of money for Tommy's. The funds raise will allow thousands of couples to attend a Tommy’s research centre and help them realise their dream of having a baby.

Taking part in Danceathon and raising money is a huge achievement for little ones, an act which deserves some recognition. So Tommy's have promised to send each fundraising Babyballet star a memento of their first fundraising challenge. More details can be found on the website.

You can find out more about Tommy’s and the Danceathon here: https://www.tommys.org/our-organisation/get-involved/tommys-danceathon-2018 Will you be taking part in the Danceathon this year?

Count With Peppa Interactive Money Box - Review & Giveaway

Peppa is a very popular pig in our house, just like most homes across the UK. Noah's been a fan ever since he was a baby and Ava has also followed suit! I'm so happy that I get to relive it all over again, yay for me! In all seriousness, it's great that they both like it because it means that there's at least one cartoon that they'll both happily sit and watch together. With the kids being such big fans, I was happy to have the chance to review one of the latest Peppa Pig toys from Trends UK.

We received the Count With Me Peppa Interactive Money Box for the purpose of this review, which I was delighted about as it looked like something both children would enjoy. As soon as Ava saw the box she started screaming "Peppa!" in the highest pitched voice you could ever imagine! She couldn't wait to play with it!

The money box is made from brightly coloured plastic and shaped just like Peppa Pig. It comes with 10 interactive plastic coins which display different characters, colours, and numbers. They are quite large, just the right size for little hands to grab.

I think this toy is pretty self-explanatory, you put the coins into the money box, which is entertaining enough for little ones but there's so much more to it than that. Batteries aren't supplied but once they've been added, the fun turns up a notch! There are two different modes of play and a total of eight different activities. Depending on which mode it's set to, Peppa will ask for different coins to be inserted. This is a great way for little ones to learn through play, whilst keeping them busy and entertained. Peppa recognises which coins have been inserted and will respond to the action.

Ava adores the Count With Peppa Interactive Money Box, I'd go as far as saying it's her new favourite toy! She spends so much time placing the different coins into the money box and then fishes them back out again. She also enjoys singing and dancing to the three songs that it plays. The three songs are hits from the TV show; The Rainbow Song, The Counting Song and Head, Shoulders, Knee's and Toes. I was so relieved that The Bing Bong song wasn't included! Speaking of relief, you can also change the volume which I'm sure that my fellow parents would be pleased to know! All fun aside, this is going to be a great resource to use over the next couple of years when it comes to teaching Ava her colours and numbers.

The Count With Peppa Interactive Money Box is suitable from 18 months to 4 years, and retails at £19.99. Now, how would you like to win a Count With Peppa Interactive Money Box? It would make a great Christmas present! To enter, simply use the Gleam form below! Good luck and don't forget to enter my other blog competitions!
