Yankee Candle Wax Tarts - Competition

It's been a while since I ran a competition out my own pocket and ran one that wasn't for children so I thought I would do today. I'm such a big fan of candles and wax melts, Yankee Candle in particular. Everyone loves a candle or wax melts so I thought this would make the perfect prize to give away.

The Yankee Candle tin egg contains three lovely wax melts which each have a burn time of 8 hours. The three scents are; Summer Scoop, Jelly Bean and Cappuccino Truffle so there's something for everyone's preference. What I love about wax tarts is how you can sample the scent in smaller size before purchasing one of the larger and more expensive candles.

For your chance to win all you need to do is use the Gleam form below. Good luck and don't forget to enter my other blog competitions

Yankee Candle - Competition

I love a good candle. Along with chocolates, wines and books they are amongst my favourite things. I have a countless amount of candles laying about and love to light a new scent in the evening. There's something so calming and relaxing about watching a candle flicker away.

One of my go to candle brands is Yankee Candle! No surprise there as they are a firm favourite in so many households across the world. When you buy from Yankee Candle you know you are buying quality and you know that whichever you choose it's going to smell beautiful.

I think they have one of the largest and most diverse range of candles on the market, there's something for everyone. One of my all time favourite scents has got to be Vanilla Cupcake as it's delicious, sweet, rich but subtle too.

I was recently contacted by My Parcel Delivery who wanted to team up with on a giveaway. They kindly offered to ship the prize to the winner once the competition has come to an end.

What is the prize I hear you ask? Well I decided to go for the 8 Votive Cafe Culture Yute Bag from Yankee Candle. Inside the back are 8 different mini candles. The fragrances included are; Cappucino Truffle, Pain Au Raisin, Tarte Tatin, Honey Glow, Cinnamon Stick, Summer Scoop, Sicilian Lemon, Strawberry Buttercream

Mothers Day Gift Guide

With Mother's Day fast approaching I thought I would put together a little gift guide of of items that I know that I as a Mother would love to receive on my special day. From flowers through to personalised mugs there is something for every type Mum and if you are still struggling for idea's after seeing my gift guide then take the quiz at the bottom of this page, I am sure it will help!

First off lets the start of with this stunning bouquet from Appleyard Flowers. Nothing says "Happy Mothers Day" like a bouquet of Mothers Day flowers. I recently received the Luxury Roses which are priced at a respectable £39.99. As a huge fan of roses and in particular pink roses I thought they were beautiful. When they arrived they had yet to bloom so I've watched them open every day. Appleyard Flowers not only offer a range of different flowers but also different delivery services too.

Next up we have this beautiful Yankee Candle which is made specially for Mum. Like many other women out there I do like a candle or two and Yankee Candle has always been a firm favourite. This candle has a scent of fresh cut roses and is the most subtle of scents, it's divine.

This right here is three of my favourite things all wrapped up into one, it's like a 3 in 1 gift. Firstly it's personalised and if you read my blog you will know how much I love personalised gifts. Secondly, it's a mug and I am quite the mug collector. Thirdly it has my son's beautiful mug on the mug! I ordered this from Truprint who offers a range of excellent photo inspired gifts that would be perfect for Mother's Day.

Personalised cards have become a tradition for us. For every holiday, birthday or event we like to order a photo card to mark the occasion which I then save and put into Noah's memory box. This card is also from Truprint and it's such a superb quality and was delivered in lightening speed too.

Last but certainly not least is this Mummy Bear mug from Flamingo Gifts. As I previously stated I am a collector of mugs and this one is so cute, how could I resist? At £8.99 it's a bargain and suitable for Mother's day, Mummy's on their birthday's, at Christmas, or just for a special treat. There is also a Daddy Bear version that I must get my paws on next!

Christmas Gift Guide - The Candle Edition & Competition

I love a good candle. I'm addicted to them; big, small, soy, wax, I love them all. I think a scented candle really adds to the ambiance of a room and there is something so relaxing about them. A candle, a pair of pj's and a box of chocolates is pretty much my ideal gift.

Candles are so popular and seem to be constantly growing in popularity, especially within the blogging community. I know so many people who are just as obsessed as I am so I decided to put together my favourite candles for Christmas. I hope to give you a little inspiration, whether you are looking to buy a candle as a gift or if you wanted to treat yourself.

1) White Glitter Christmas Tree Candle from Laura Ashley
How beautiful is this candle? It's very chic and I love the glitter. I think it would make a lovely Christmas decoration and I have to admit I wouldn't want to burn it because it's just that pretty. They are currently on sale on the website at £7.00.

2) Sebnini of England - Festive Holly
Here we have a tin candle from Sebnini of England. The scent of this candle is described as Festive Holly and it features hints of bergamont, lemon and lavender. It doesn't scream out "Christmas" to me but I like that, it's a very subtle scent and I know this because it is currently lit beside me. It would make an lovely gift and is just £7.50 from
Potter & Rest.

3) Eika - Rustic Forest Berry
This purple pillar candle is from a brand called Eika and can be bought directly from Potter & Rest for just £4.50. It's called Forest Berry and the scent is just how you would imagine it to be, it's very sweet. With a burn time of 75 hours it's certainly good value for money.

4) Yankee Candle - Christmas Gift Set

Here we have good old Yankee Candle. This gift set would be a welcomed gift to pretty much anyone on your Christmas list this year. It contains three mini candles in the classic scents of; Christmas Eve, Christmas Garland and Sugared Apple. You can find the set online for as little as £15.00 and that's an absolute bargain if you ask me.

5) Home Candy - Snowflake Glass Candle Holder
This candle just screams Christmas with it's delightful snowflake design. It would make a nice stocking filler or gift to someone special this year. It has a very light scent which isn't overpowering at all. This candle costs just £4.50 and 15% of the proceeds are donated to the Snowflake Appeal which raises funds to help support vulnerable children.

6) Paddywax - Boheme
I wouldn't necessarily call this a Christmas candle but I love the look and scent of it that much that I just had to include it on my list. The scent is said to be black coconut and amber and it's possibly one of the best combination I have ever come across, it's divine. Not only that but the candles bowl is very bohemian and stylish, one that can be reused once you have burnt up the last bit of candle. The Boheme candle from Paddywax can be bought directly from Rooi and costs £17.50.

7) Wax Lyrical - Colony - Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh
Last but certainly not least we have the gold, frankincense and myrrh jar candle from Wax Lyrical. I am a huge fan of every candle on my list but this has got to be my favourite for Christmas, it's perfect. It's smells luxurious and very tempting with it's deep blend of vanilla, caramel and white jasmine. With a burn time of roughly 80 hours it's great value for money at £18.00.
