Curious Wolves

A few weeks ago I received a lovely email from Emma over at www.curiouswolves.com. Curious Wolves is a brand new travel and adventure blog run by Emma and her husband, Nick. It's aimed at parents with young children and designed to inspire.

When Emma and Nick were expecting their first child they were told that they would have to stop travelling once their son was born. Their goal is to show all new parents that travel and adventure doesn't have to stop, it's just the beginning and even more enjoyable with your child. 

To accompany the blog they decided to commission one of their favourite artist's Nicholas John Frith to design a print for their range of baby t shirts and vests that they sell on etsy. 

They are really proud of their product and offered to send Noah a tshirt of his own. The t shirt is handmade and made from the finest organic cotton, it's insanely soft and must feel like a dream to wear. I love the design as it's quirky and different. The poppers on the neck are an added bonus as stretched necklines are a pet hate of mine. It's a wonderful t shirt and is probably the softest material I've come across when it comes to children's clothing.

Five tips for a healthier home in 2015

The new year is the perfect time to make your home healthier. Here are five simple tips that will help you create a fresher, healthier, and altogether happier place to live in 2015. 

Let the light in
It can be tempting in the drab winter months to close the curtains and curl up on the sofa with your favourite TV box set. Unfortunately, a lack of natural light can lead to irritability, headaches, and even sleep disturbances. So make the most of the short daylight hours by sitting near a window when possible, or invest in a special lamp that replicates sunlight. 

Improve your air quality
With the windows closed and heating on, the air in your home can become stuffy and unpleasant. Even worse, excess humidity can lead to mould growth and trigger allergies and colds. The best way to combat this is to get a dehumidifier, a handy gizmo that removes excess moisture from circulating air. Your home will feel fresher and you will feel healthier too. 

Bust the dust 
Dust isn't just unsightly, it's a health hazard too. Not only does it exacerbate allergies, micro-particles of dangerous compounds such as lead, toxic cleaning products, and pesticides can concentrate in dust deposits. The best defence is a good offence, so try to vacuum twice per week, and get a duster for those hard to reach nooks and crannies. 

Hurrah for hand sanitiser 
Everyone knows they should wash their hands after using the bathroom, but few people are aware of the importance of regular hand washing when at home. From door handles to food preparation surfaces, there are many places in your home that harbour microbes with the potential to cause illness. Try placing a few bottles of squeezable hand gel around your home, in easy to spot places as a reminder of the importance of proper hand hygiene. 

Ditch the sofa 
You come home from work, do your chores, eat a (healthy!) dinner, and then what? Veg out on the sofa of course! Unfortunately, barely a week passes without the publication of a new study on the health risks of excessive sitting. It's bad for your posture, bad for your heart and blood pressure, bad for your spine, and causes a host of other issues. Try replacing your sofa for a few hours a day with a more upright type of seating to improve your posture, and take regular walking breaks to keep your heart happy.

Review: Personalised Beanbag from Teeny Beanies

Teeny Beanies is one of those fabulous brands that I discovered through the power of social media. They specialise in handmade and personalised character beanbags but the range doesn't stop there as they also make cushions, bags, bunting, soft toys too. If you read the blog then you will know I do have a penchant for personalised goodies so when they said they would like to send Noah a beanbag of his own I was delighted and gratefully accepted. 

I then had the task of deciding on which character design to go for and with such a variety from a bubble bee to a dinosaur to an elephant I thought I would really struggle. Thankfully I didn't because Woolly Sheep really stood out to me and I knew that we just had to choose him. I also opted for it to be personalised with Noah's name although you don't need to if you prefered it to be plain.

When the beanbag arrived I was very impressed with the overall quality of every aspect of the beanbag. It is made of very soft material and the design and stitch work is faultless, it's such a well made item and would make such a great gift.

At the moment Noah hasn't sussed out how to sit on it but he loves to snuggle up to it and he plays with it too. It's just the right size for him but I can also see him using it for years to come.

Review: December Degustabox

We have been reviewing Degustabox for a few months now and are such big fans. When we know our monthly box is on it's way we are so excited. It's such a treat when the box arrives and we are always delighted at what is inside. We are yet to be disappointed with Degustabox and that says a lot with a subscription service. 

Subscription to Desgustabox is £12.99 a month and I think it's excellent value for money because what is inside the box each month always exceeds that value. Desgustabox a great way to be introduced to new brands and new flavours.

I really enjoyed Decembers box as it contained such a wide range of different products. My favourite being the Gloworm energy drinks as each one had such a distinctive yet refreshing taste. The Popchips and Bahlsen biscuits also went down a treat because who can turn now crips and choccie biscuits? The box was worth around £25 so it was excellent value for money.

Project 365 - Week 2 - 2/52

January is flying by already, isn't it? I'm really enjoying project 365 and so far I've found it easy uploading a photo every day because that's pretty much what I do. There's not a day that goes by that I don't take or upload a photo. We've had a lazy but lovely week this week, especially during the day when it's just Noah and I. We did have lots of fun and snuggles indoors though so it was lovely.
