Our 2015 Highlights

For us 2015 flew by in the blink of an eye, it was the fastest year ever! A fast year but such an exciting and enjoyable one too. 2015 saw us doing many things together as a family and that is exactly how I wanted it to be. The year was all about family time.

Our 2015 Highlights

Learning to walk
In January Noah finally learnt to walk, at 14 months old. I managed to record Noah's first steps on camera and I screamed with delight. Once he took more than 5 steps at once it just all clicked into place and there has literally been no stopping him since. He never sits still, ever!

Noah's first holiday
In March we took Noah on his first holiday, to Bluestone National Park in Wales. The opporunity came through blogging as I was offered the chance to review a midweek break. The drive was a long one but once we got there we had such an amazing time. I would love to go back one day!

Noah's first trip to the beach
We had taken Noah to the seaside a few times already but in April Noah sat on a beach for the very first time. He wasn't a fan of the sand at all and didn't even want to stand on it with his shoes on! He literally clung to me and pulled his feet off the ground, ha ha.

Geronimo Festival
We attended Geronimo Festival back in May which is a festival aimed at children that is jam packed full of things for them to do. The three of us had an absolute whale of a time and the weather was perfect too. Noah loved visiting the different tents especially for baby ballet, zumba and the trains. My highlight of the day was holding the snake and showing Noah that there is nothing to be afraid of. Nick's highlight was the amazing food! We can't wait to go back this year!

Summer
The hot weather was short lived but the sun that we got we certainly made the most of. Noah and I spent so many hours outdoors whether it be going for long walks to the nature park, a quick trip to the park or picnics and paddling pools in the garden. So many fond memories were made this Summer.

Playgroup
We started attending a local playgroup this year and it has got to be one of Noah's highlights as it's one of his favourite places. Though for me it's a highlight because taking him to playgroup has given Noah so much confidence and independence. He used to suffer with stranger anxiety and would cry if anyone spoke to him and he was very shy too. Playgroup has brought him out of his shell and helped him leaps and bounds and we will be attending again throughout 2016.

Days out at the farm
I've lost count of the amount of times we visited farms and zoo's in 2015. In the Spring and Summer months we went every single weekend as we just love being outdoors, exploring and seeing all the wildlife and animals. As soon as the weather picks up a little we will be heading back that's for sure!

A holiday to the Lake District
In September I was lucky enough to win £200 Late Rooms vouchers over on twitter. I was so happy as it meant we could book a last minute getaway! I had always wanted to visit the Lake District so quickly booked a 3 day getaway near Keswick. I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed our trip, it was amazing! We packed so much into those three days. We went on a boat trip, visited the Beatrix Potter attraction, went to the zoo, we explored, we dined out, we went on long walks, we shopped! The Lakes is such a beautiful place and we hope to visit again soon.

Blackpool
Noah's favourite place in the whole wide world is Blackpool. My Mum has taken him a lot ever since he was tiny so he is always asking to go. We took him ourselves so many times this year as not only does he really enjoy himself but we do too. We take him to the arcades to go on rides, to play with the 2p's machines, we grab a meal at Coral Island, visit the beach and have a paddle. I'm looking forward to the weather clearing up so we can visit in the next month or so.

Noah turned 2
In November we had a birthday, Noah turned 2! It's such a cliche when people say they grow up too quickly but it is so true! It doesn't feel like two minutes ago when he was a newborn in my arms but at the same time I can't remember what life was like before we had him in our lives. He had a wonderful birthday! The morning and afternoon he spent opening and playing with his presents and then in the evening we threw him a little birthday party. The highlight of Noah's birthday for him wasn't the presents but being surrounded by family! (But he did love Woody and Buzz too!)

Christmas time
Now our highlights wouldn't be compete without Christmas. With Noah being two this year it was certainly more exciting for us as parents. We did the Elf on the Shelf tradition and gave Noah a Christmas Eve basket which we intend to do every year now. We were all spoilt rotten, especially Noah. The festive period has been so busy for us, it's been none stop but I wouldn't change it for the world! Christmas is all about spending time and making memories with family and we have sure done that this year!

What have been your highlights of 2015?
