5 Funny Little Things About Noah & Ava

My blog is my livelihood and my hobby but most importantly it's where I document as much as I can about my children. I blogged throughout pregnancy with both children and they both have monthly updates which I treasure so deeply. There's something so special about reading those posts back, it's like an instant time warp and it leaves me feeling so nostalgic.

I was recently tagged by my friend Cassie who blogs over at Lily's Little Learners in regards to this post and I had to take part because it's another one of those things which will be such a joy to look back at when they are older, to remember all their little quirks and funny moments.

I'm going to start with Noah because he's the eldest and he's such a character. I could honestly list 100 funny little things about him but here are my favourite five at the moment.

1. The Imperial March is his favourite song. Yes you know, the Darth Vader theme! He's often heard and seen marching around singing "DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUNNNN!" Even the nursery staff comment on it because they find it so funny.

2. He has to speak and say hello to everyone, even complete strangers and sometimes comes out with the most random and obscure things to them. A couple of weekends ago he told a man that he'd "lost his penny!" so the man ended up giving him 50p out his pocket. I was mortified but we all said thank you. Funny thing is, he didn't even have a penny to begin with!

3. After Noah's finished his meal or whatever he's been eating he always shows me his muscles (because eating all your food makes you big and strong!) The only thing is that he thinks his elbows are his muscles and because they are bony he thinks they are really big and strong. Oh and he doesn't call his elbow an elbow, he thinks it's called an elmo!

4. When he wants something or has done something he shouldn't have he usually says "I love you Mummy...." Then I say, "Why what've you done now or what do you after" He does say it randomly too and always before bed but a lot of the time it's for those reasons.

5. He has little nicknames for Ava. Midge, Midgey Moo, Davis, Ava Dava, Jellybean, Jeanie and even Yoda. Whenever she grabs him a little too hard, or kicks him like babies do he thinks she's being naughty and points his finger at her whilst counting to three! It's so funny.

Last but not least we have little Ava. Although she's only four months old she already has us giggling with the little things that she does. One of the best parts of parenting is watching your babies personality develop every single day.

1. As soon as she wakes up in the morning she gives me a huge gummy grin! She smiles so big that her whole face is actually just mouth and it's so contagious.

2. Whenever we are eating she will stop whatever she is doing and focus all her attention on what you have in your hand. I've never seen her hone in on something as much as she does with food and she always makes me feel really guilty because she can't have any yet.

3. She laughs at everything that Noah does. Everyone else has to work really hard to make her giggle (she's only just starting to laugh) but Noah only has to look at her and she's chuckling away.

4. This one isn't funny in a "haha" kind of way but a little quirk of hers. She can be going absolutely mental in the arms of someone else, crying the loudest and most heartbreaking cry you've ever heard but the second I take her she stops and smiles. She's a little monkey!

5. She's been fascinated with Nick's hair and beard since the day she was born and instead of cooing or looking at him she often has full blown baby conversations with his hair.

So there you have it, 5 funny little things about Noah and Ava. They can both be quiet exhausting sometimes but every day is filled with so many laughs and giggles, they are both such characters. To pass the post on I'm tagging Rebecca from Mum of a Premature Baby, Lucy from Hello Beautiful Bear, Rebecca from Futures, Leslie from Messy Blog and Kate from Lesbemums

I'd love to read about the funny little things that your kids do and get up to!

  3. Children can be really cute and funny. Yet they grow up so quickly. I often wonder what your children will think of your comprehensive record of their development / growing up. I can recall one of my older brother's treating me to regular trips to the cinema, to see Disney films. Being the youngest in the family, it was seen as a nice treat for the 'wean'. Yet I loved to see the pleasure on my brother's face. As he obviously enjoyed the Disney films. It seemed it was a treat for both of us in reality. In later years I would take his children to Disney films. Nice to have such Wonderful memories.

  12. I really want to do a blog to documents and look back on my children, Noah is so funny and cute, that's a good trick with his lost penny, he could be rich by the time he's 10 😉 and ava is growing up so quick to, she is the same age as Mollie, she too stares us out for food, she does it with my cup of tea following my cup as I move it to drink, she is giggling now too, we have to try hard but daddy screws up his face or pokes his tongue out and she's chuckling away, she is now rolling over and the younger of my 3 to cut a tooth at 3 and a half months old, she is a mummy's girl to who stops crying the minute I have her xxx

  13. Seems Noah has a healthy attitude in regards to food. As well as a healthy appetite. Maybe his sister will follow his good example.

  15. Children can be so cute, funny, endearing, etc. It is Wonderful to experience their love of life, adventure etc. It has been said that we should nurture the child inside ourselves. Maybe we need to have some days just for fun, leisure, recreation, laughter, adventure.

  16. Noah 2. He does seem a very sociable character. Which is nice, and can be a complement to family upbringing etc. though we also want to keep them safe. Personal Safety may be an aspect that we need to consider implementing at a very young age. Luckily there has been more awareness following the abuse we have heard of via the media (Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris, Jersey Children's home, etc, etc). Libraries have children's books which can help us to educate our children. Maybe Equality and Diversity may also help improve Quality of Life for Individuals. Which should be irrrespective of race, class, gender, income, title, etc, etc, etc.

Children can be so much fun, and great company. I like how the Italians, as well as some others have a history of making all family members welcome to a meal, event, holiday, etc. lovely to see the various generations interacting. Nice that children nowadays can be seen out for a meal with parents, family, grandparents etc. Gets the children socialised from an early age. Helps with their development, education, etc.
