Sometimes I don't know who's more excited about discovering new toys to play with, me or the kids! Last week we were sent some very special toys indeed. Introducing Glimmies Rainbow Friends, little star fairies that have been sent down by the moon to take care of the magical "Glimmieswood" forest.
Being the shy fairies that they are, they hide during the day but come night time they spring to life and shine bright. When darkness falls Glimmies light up majestically and bring brightness to the forest, creating a soothing light just like a firefly. Glimmies don't just light up, but their lights also change colour when they are placed next to another Glimmie friend. It's like a light party!
To make your Glimmies glow all you need to do is switch the button the back of the head and make sure it's turned on. You then either cup them in you hand if it's daylight or wave a hand over their head if it's dark and they'll magically glow up.

For the purpose of this review we were sent two Glimmies Rainbow Friends toys to review, the first one being the Glimmies Rainbow Friends Glimtree which retails are £34.99. This is a great play set to start off a brand new Glimmies collection, it's a place for your Glimmies to call home and such a beautiful toy. As you can see it's a magical tree with four different compartments which open up so your fairies can go inside. When it starts to go dark the Glimmies inside will begin to glow, lighting up the entire Glimtree!
The Glimtree also comes with an exclusive Glimmie which you can only get with this set. I think this is great and another incentive to buy. I think she's a rather special Glimmie too with her pale blue skin and white fluffy hair, you can imagine her being in charge and mother hen of all the other Glimmies.
I think Glimmies are utterly adorable and I think how they all have their own name and bio is a great personal touch, one which Noah really likes too as he loves his toys to have their own names and personas. He also loves to collect things so he's delighted to know that there's 12 different Glimmies in total.

The second toy we received was the Glimmies Rainbow Friends Glimhouse which costs just £8.99 and is available with many different characters and colours. Simply pop your Glimmie inside their Glimhouse and she will glow up nice and bright, lighting up the night. If you attach the star pin to the top of the house then you can hang it anywhere and even connect multiple Glimhouses together creating a whole village of fairies!
We've been enjoying these toys for a while now and they've been a joy, we adore them and for so many different reasons. I think they have such a lovely backstory and they really encourage your child's imagination to bloom and grow. Noah's favourite out of the two has got to be the Glimtree and as I type this it's sat on his bedside table with his two Glimmies glowing inside (I'm going to run up and turn them off once I post this review!)
Prices for Glimmies Rainbow Friends start at as little as £4.99 and they are available from Flair and other toy retailers. Glimmies get a huge thumbs up from us and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending them, they'd make one fabulous gift or treat to boys and girls alike!
Do you like the look of Glimmies Rainbow Friends?
