Silent Sunday

Review: Shloer

I am a soft-drinkaholic and cannot get enough of the fizz so I was very excited when I was sent a couple of bottles of Shloer to review on Chic Geek Diary. Shloer is "best served shared" but I didn't tell my Mr that!

Shloer is THE sparkling juice drink for any and all occasions. For a light refreshment on a busy day to served as a treat at parties.  It contains no preservaties, artificial colours, sweeteners or flavours. With a blend of the best quality juices and the freshest of water, it's no wonder Shloer is the creme de la creme of soft drinks.

I absoloutely loved Shloer. It's light, tasty and refreshing which makes a nice change from your usual bog standard can of pop. I also enjoy it as a substitute for an alcoholic beverage! I currently don't drink and when the other half is having a beer I pour a little Shloer into a wine glass and it feels like I'm no longer missing out!

There are also some great non alcoholic and alcoholic recipe's you can try too!
Here are a couple of my favourites..

Non Alcoholic Cocktails

75ml Shloer White Grape, Raspberry & Cranberry
50ml Shloer Red Grape
25ml fresh orange juice
2 lime wedges

"For a great girlie night in this non-alcoholic version of the Sex and the City classic will treat your taste buds to Shloer White Grape, Raspberry & Cranberry and a sparkle of Shloer Red Grape. Shake well with freshly squeezed orange and lime juice, then strain and serve in a martini glass and garnish with flamb├ęd orange zest and grapes."
Sangria Special:

150ml / ¼pt. still lemonade
600ml / 1pt. Shloer Red Grape
Ice cubes
Orange, lime and apple slices

Pour the apple juice and lemonade into a large jug and stir until well mixed. Slowly add the Shloer Red Grape and stir again. Add ice cubes and plenty of orange, lime and apple slices and serve in tall glasses.

Alcoholic Cocktails

Bionsen Deodorant

Bionsen is an aluminium and paraben free deodorant infused with spa minerals that help to naturally protect and care for your sensitive underarm skin. Not only does it keep the smells at bay by but it allows your skin to breath naturally and is perfect for anyone who prefers to use natural beauty products. Bionsen is also suitable for people with sensitive skin.

I suffer from sensitive skin myself and a lot of the time when I spray or roll on a deodorant on my underarm area it becomes itchy and sometimes burns. I can only use specific brands so when Bionsen offered to send me a selection from their new range I couldn't wait to test them out and see if Bionsen was suitable for me and my funny skin. I found it to be spot on! Not only did it have a lovely light clean scent but it left my underarms feeling cared for. I didn't itch once and it felt soothing when applied. Thumbs up from me!

You may of heard of Jakemans before as they are such a big and well loved brand throughout the UK and USA. When I was sent a selection of Jakemans mini's to review on my blog I felt a little nostalgic! I remember when I was a child and my Grandad would have a jar full of every kind of sweet you could imagine. Whenever I had a cold he would swear by "good old Jakemans!" There was no need for medication, a Jakemans menthol would do the trick.

Jakemans specialise in quality menthol confectionery. Established in England in 1907 and still going strong to this day. They are an alternative natural remedy to many common ailments.

Not only are they fantastic for when you are full of a cold, with soothing vapour to soothe your passages, they are made by using the finest of ingredients, suitable for vegetarians and have no artificial colours or flavours! They come in a selection of delicious flavours. There is a Jakeman for every taste. See the range here.

They are a great treat for any time of the year, not just for when you have a cold. Because they have no hidden nasties you can have a sugary treat without too much guilt.

If you haven't tried Jakemans before then I urge you to go out and buy a bag or two.
You can buy them at most leading supermarkets and stores.
