Christmas has got to be one of our favourite times of year, it really is the season to be jolly! Nick and I have so many fond memories of Christmas back when we were kids, our families were amazing when it came to making Christmas special and memorable for us. So much so that when we had our children we knew that we wanted to make it just as magical for them, if not more.
Both Noah and Ava are still so young but we've created some lovely family Christmas traditions already. Traditions such as Christmas Eve boxes, Advent calendars, a Christmas book advent, Christmas arts and crafts, a new decoration for the tree every year, baking gingerbread houses, visiting Father Christmas and Christmas themed days out. But we always have room for more, introducing The Elf on the Shelf®!
Our Scout Elf (Judy) is a tradition which we've enjoyed doing for the past two years with Noah. Everyday through December, up until Christmas our Scout Elf makes her way through the house, playing, celebrating, getting up to mischief and so on. She's in a different location every morning and it's an absolute joy watching Noah find where she is everyday! It's turned into a little game before breakfast and although Ava doesn't understand what we are doing yet she beams from ear to ear once Noah points Judy out.
Do you fancy a new tradition? If you want to know more about The Elf on The Shelf or find local adoption centre's then take a look on the website and if you want to follow our Scout Elf shenanigans then keep an eye on my facebook and instagram feed!

I can't wait to see your posts about what you elf is getting up to. I still think Emily is kind of little this year, but next year I cannot wait to introduce her to elf on the shelf! xx

ReplyDeleteWe do this every year and both my boys aged 6 and 9 love it, the only problem is I often forget and I'm trying to find something naughty for the elf to get up to at midnight!!

We've chosen not to do the elf on the shelf, mainly because it will set us up for years of coming up with new things and we're lazy :D but I admire people who have the imagination :)
ReplyDeleteI think I am the most useless elf owner. I never remember !
ReplyDeleteMy kids love their elves. Lots of fun and excitement
