Child Poverty which is often mentioned by Politicians. How prevalent is it, and how is it being or to be addressed? Mention of Child Allowance Premium on tv news recently.
The modern culture allows for family planning. So there is the possibility / option of planning / controlling family size, fertility via contraception. There is also Parental Responsibility.
What is the average family size nowadays? Statistics could show, explain reasons for higher than average family size :- Illiteracy ( is there still an element of lack of education, information?), Culture ( geography, ethnicity, religious beliefs / background, etc).
As who and what is Responsible, and Accountable for Child Poverty in this day and age, globally connected culture (via Internet, Politics, Businesses, etc).
Surely quality of life is important for all.
Nice to see Noah have some time to himself, on a wonderfully peaceful beach.
We were watching :- Portillo Hidden Histories in Britain on tv. We found it very informative and interesting.
Michael Portillo did a walk through of an old hospital :- The Royal London Hospital (originally The London Infirmary, I believe). He spoke of it being in the East End, high population, poor people, people living on the margins of society. The Hospital providing FREE Healthcare (prior to NHS pre - 1948). The hospital being a centre of learning.
Seems that providing FREE Healthcare allowed / enabled :- Doctors, Radiologists, Nurses, Anatomists, etc to make great strides in knowledge and skills in regards to Anatomy, Healthcare, etc. So we have much to thank the poor for. For they enabled the Healthcare professionals, etc to learn, practice, improve Healthcare provision, surgery, medicine, etc.
We all Matter. Each individual has Value. Therefore each individual should be Valued.
Noah is your Firstborn. He is now an older brother / big brother, sibling, schoolboy. He grows, develops, matures into each new role. Hopefully he will value himself :- Have self worth, a healthy sense of self esteem, etc. As well as love and Respect for his sister, parents, friends, community, etc. Best Wishes to Noah with his future. Some quiet time may well allow him to take life in his stride (calmly, in a matter of fact fashion, peaceful temperament).
Recently Boris Johnson (possible next British Prime Minister) has been in the media in regards :- Reports of Police being called to the flat he shares / shared with his partner, following noise / row. Then recent publication of photograph of Boris and his partner, yet he would not give information of when the photograph was taken. Seems that media were questioning was the publication of photo after reports of row :- Aiming to imply that couple still happily together. Yet no accurate information with the photo ( evidence of date it was taken). So was photo's publication misleading? Or is it what American President Donald Trump is meaning when he refers to Fake News being communicated / published?
Noah enjoying some alone time, on a peaceful beach. How peaceful, relaxing, exciting, adventurous childhood can be. Just how will Noah and othe children's life's be when they become adults, and then older adult. Just what doe the future hold in store?
We wish children :- Health and Happiness. Hoping they have positive experiences. Employment :- What will be available? Opportunities :- What will be available? Many decades ago, a frequent question people would ask each other was :- What do you do for a living? Schools had careers teachers. Are there careers available for the children who will be adults in the next decade, and decades thereafter? Will there be choices / options? Employee Rights? Less bullying in schools, workplace, communities, etc?
Where do adults find security, happiness? As adulthood follows childhood. Older adulthood then follows. Are older adults happy? What would make older adults feel happier :- Social Contact, Outings, Entertainment, etc, etc. Intergenerational work. Maybe that will be where so,e employment will be. I can recall enjoying :- Old People's Homes for 4 year old ( Nursery school children visited Care Home and interacted with the older adults living there) was found to be beneficial for the children and the older adults.
Boy, oh!, Boy! Today the heat / temperature / weather was like being abroad. Not able to sit around, peacefully with no commitments, no concerns, etc. Chilling out doing little - nothing is / was an impossibility for us. Moving around, getting on with commitments, requirements, seeing to people / family needs, etc. We most certainly were " Feeling the Heat". Not comfortable. Did not feel good / healthy. As though Summer clothing and Cool Cotton, we were perspiring. Quickly feeling the need for fluids in order to keep sufficiently hydrated.
Ice cream, we have eaten loads today, just to keep ourselves cooled down, in this excessive heat ( Summer Weathet). Luckily we were out, and got access to ice cream vendor. We bought some ice lollies and sorbet, had ice cream already in the freezer ( though now need to stock up. Also on visiting family were treated to some ice cream cornettos, and ice cream and fruit.
We love to go to the beach near us, in all types of weather (well, maybe not this week with so many storms!) We often put together a scavenger hunt for our granddaughter so she can look for different shaped seashells, sea weed, seagull feathers and driftwood.
A lovely beach , very picturesque it looks very beautiful
ReplyDeleteNice angle. Though would have been nice to have / see a closer snap / picture of Noah on the beach.
