Review: November Degustabox

We have been reviewing Degustabox for a few months now and are always so excited when we know out monthly box is on it's way. It's such a treat when the box arrives and we are always delighted at what is inside.

Subscription to Desgustabox is just £12.99 a month and that's including postage and packaging. I think it's excellent value for money as the contents of the box always exceed the amount that you pay. It's a great way to be introduced to new brands and new flavours.

Here it what was in Novembers box:

Salsa & Mesquite Kettle Chips – £2.19

5 x Lindt Lindor Melting Moments – £3.25

Branston Caramelised Onion Chutney – £1.50
2 x Holy Cow Curry Sauce – £3.38
Kent’s Kitchen Fajita Flavour Shots – £1.85

2 x Pip Organic Cloudy Apple Juice – £3.00
Montano Cider – £2.79

2 x Cool Dawn Recover Drinks – £2.98

Spiced Chai Tea – Sample

Degustabox delivered in more ways than one this month and have impressed us all the way. I liked that it contained variety, lots of different drinks and cooking sauces.

My favourite items in this months box were the Kettle Chips and the Lindt Chocolate. It goes without saying doesn't it? Crisps and chocolate?! Noah's favourite was the apple juice which he drank slightly diluted in his cup and he did have a few nibbles at the chocolate. My other half loved the cider, noted that it was very traditional in taste and was impressed by the size of the bottle.

I can't praise Degustabox enough and I think a subscription would make an excellent present this Christmas. If you want to give it a try then simply add this code Q8BRA when registering to receive £3 off.

Christmas Gift Guide - The Baby Edition

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that it's December already, where has the year gone? Noah was 6 weeks old last year on his first Christmas. It was lovely having a newborn at that time of year but it's so much more exciting this time around as he will be 13 months old and will be causing havok.

I thought I would share some of the items on Noah's Christmas list this year. Some items I have bought already and some I am yet to buy. Perhaps it will give you a little bit of inspiration and maybe you could share some ideas with me too.

1) Farm Yard Puzzle - Noah is getting to that age now where he is really trying to figure out the toys and games that require logic. I think this two piece puzzle from Orchard Toys is ideal to begin with. Noah loves animals and I think the puzzles will also be great for teaching him the name of each animal and what noise they make.

2)
Wooden Stacker - I just had to buy this wooden stacker from ELC as I have recently fallen in love with wooden toys and it's something that will really help with Noah's fine motor skills.

3)
Cowboy Ragdoll - I recently bought Noah a doll from IKEA and he absolutely loves him, he hugs him, wrestles him, kisses him. After seeing how much he liked the doll I bought I thought why not add another to the mix. I have had my eye on the cowboy rag doll from Imajo for months!

4)
Sing n Learn Bunny Bus - This adorable bus of bunnies from Tomy is fantastic and I have to admit Noah already has had his hands on this one. The bunny band is interactive and helps teach your child numbers, letters and colours. The bunnies are removable and when you place them back in their seats each one plays their very own song.

5)
That's not my Santa - We love this range of books and have an ever growing collection of them. This Santa edition is a must for Christmas.

6)
Noah's Ark Balance Game - Another item on my wishlist is this balance game from the fantastic Lou Lou and Jim Jams Toys. It's another toy that I think Noah would really enjoy as it will encourage him to use his mind and imagination. I can't get enough of wooden toys.

7) Laugh & Learn Crawl Around Car - The Crawl Around Car from Fisher Price would make an excellent main Christmas present this year. There are so many things that you can do with it from sitting in the drivers seat; beeping the horn, shifting gears, pressing buttons, beeping the horn. To joining in, singing and dancing to the endless songs, tunes and phrases. If that isn't enough it even has a built in ramp to pop balls down. I can see Noah having hours of fun with it.

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? What gifts do you have in mind?

Review: MAM Soothers, Toothbrushes and Spoons - Oh my!

MAM is a baby brand favourite in our house and has been since Noah was born. When Noah was a newborn we struggled with wind and he couldn't drink comfortably from the bottles we were using at the time. We chose to buy new bottles and the MAM anti colic bottles were recommended everywhere: online, from friends, in forums, on twitter. We bought some and have never looked back, Noah still drinks from them now at 12 months.

We were recently sent a selection of MAM products to review and I was very excited to try out further products from their range.

MAM Perfect Night 12+ months soother and Moustache 6+ months soother.

Just like the bottles the soothers from MAM are another product that I swear by and we have been using them since Noah was a few days old. In those early days we noticed that Noah wanted to suck on his thumb or on his bottle just for comfort so we decided to introduce a dummy. I sucked my thumb growing up and I didn't want Noah to follow in my footsteps as I know it's near enough impossible to really stop. We encouraged the dummy to distract him from his thumb because the way I see it you can take away a dummy but you can't take away a thumb!

The MAM soothers are the only ones Noah will take and they are great because they come in different sizes, materials, designs and are BPA free. Noah usually only has his dummy at nap or bedtime but if he has it during the day for even just a minute it's because he's managed to find one by rummaging through my changing bag! Monkey!

MAM Bite & Play.

The Bite & Play teether couldn't of come at a better time now that Noah finally has his first two teeth and is teething on and off. It's perfect for chewing on or playing with and is specifically designed with teething babies in mind. It's easy to hold, entertaining and is made to soothe and massage gums. We've been using this a lot which surprised me cause he doesn't usually entertain teethers. On days where teething has been particularly bad we've thrown it into the fridge so then he has something cold to chew on and it seems to help a lot. It's also great for throwing in the changing bag for when you are are out and about too.

MAM spoon set and cover.

We've actually been using the MAM spoons since we begun our weaning journey all those months ago and they have been fabulous. They are soft tipped which makes them perfect for Noah's delicate palate and they come in two different sizes and colours too. My favourite feature is the grip patch which makes them easier for Noah to hold and is now he is trying to get the hang of feeding himself.

MAM Learn to brush toothbrush set.

The MAM toothbrush was another item that was perfectly timed because as soon as Noah's first two teeth sprouted through the surface we opened our Learn to brush set. The set contains two toothbrushes. The first being a training brush that has an extra long handle which enables parents and babies to brush at the same time. The second is just like the training brush but without the extension which is great for transitioning and allowing the baby to brush independently. The sets come in three different colours; blue, green and pink. Noah loves to brush his teeth and gums and we didn't really need to use the training brush because thankfully he got the hang of it really quickly. You only need to ask Noah to brush his teeth and he gives it a go, he's fab. The Learn to Brush set is a great idea and has certainly made brushing teeth a lot easier and a lot more fun.

I was a huge fan of the brand before sampling all of these different products but now I love them even more. I couldn't rate them any higher because every product we have tried has literally been faultless and have all been perfectly suited for Noah's and my own needs. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending MAM to anyone.

You can find all these products and much more on the website and at the moment there is a sale on and you could save upto a whopping 50% off.

Review: Brother Max - Ray Bath and Room Thermometer and Easy Hold Sippy Cup

Brother Max are an innovative baby brand who specialise in designing products which are inventive and original. These products are made with both mother and baby in mind to make everyday tasks a little easier. With this in mind I was more than happy to sign up to review the Ray Bath and Room digital Thermometer and the new Easy Hold Sippy Cup.

First up we have the Bath and Room Digital Thermometer lovingly named Ray, how cute is he? This thermometer is fantastic because of his multiple uses. He can be used in the bath to gauge the waters temperature or he can be used around the house to determine the rooms temperature. I am always worrying if a room is too hot or too cold so Ray is perfect for carting around. Noah's bedroom tends to get chilly so this thermometer is now a permanent fixture on the windowsill beside his cot.

Since receiving Ray we have used him at every bath time. Long gone are the days of deliberating for 5 minutes about whether the water is too hot or too cold. I simply place Ray into the water and he instantly tells me the temperature of the water. Our baths are generally 36oc or 37oc but if the temperature was to go any higher than 39oc the LCD panel will flash with the word HOT!

Not only is Ray the best Bath and Room Thermometer but he's also a pretty good bath toy too! He is cute, brightly coloured and easy to grab hold of. Noah loves to chew on him and I'm fine with that seeing as Ray is BpA, Phthalate and PVC free. He even complies with the EU Toy Safety Standards. Go Ray!

Then we have the brand new Easy Hold Sippy Cup which would make a perfect starter cup. It has ergonomic hand-thru design which makes the handles much easier and more comfortable for your little one to hold. You don't have to worry about any spillages when out and about because it has a nifty close & go spout and is non spill too. Another product that is Bpa, Phthalate and PVC free.

Noah is very choosy when it comes to his cups and usually only drinks out of ones which either have a rubber teet or have no lid on whatsoever. The Easy Hold Sippy Cup is an exception to this rule as he will happily drink from it. Perhaps because it is so comfortable to hold and easy to drink from or maybe because it looks pretty interesting too? Who knows! All I know is it's a hit with us.

Both products get two thumbs up from both Noah.
Brother Max is certainly one to watch, I can't wait to see what is next in store for the brand.
