My Top 5 TV Shows

If you read my blog regularly you must know by now that one of most treasured past times is to sit down on the sofa and watch my favourite TV shows on my Viera TV. I'm all about the American shows and have a list of shows that I watch that is as long as my arm but today I thought I would share with you my top 5.

Sons of Anarchy - 8.7 rating on IMDb

"A man in his early 30s struggles to find a balance in his life between being a new dad and his involvement in a motorcycle club."

Don't let this show's bio put you off because Sons of Anarchy is so much more than that. The show is centered around SAMCRO which is bikers club, you follow Jax Teller on his journey through parenthood, his struggle within the club and all the trouble that is brings.

Although the finale left me feeling a little sour I will always love the show and it will always be a favourite. I cried so many tears through those 7 seasons and grew fond of so many characters. It's up there with the greats for me and has so many heart wrenching and traumatic scenes, it's certainly worth a watch.

Justified - 8.7 rating on IMDb

"Old-school U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is reassigned from Miami to his childhood home in the poor, rural coal-mining towns in Eastern Kentucky."

Again a bio that does the show no justice whatsoever. The cast, the setting, the atmosphere, the accents, the story lines, everything about this show blends so well and it just works. You cannot help but love both Raylan and Boyd, both lawman and outlaw. I have just watched the last every episode and the finale was literally perfect and left me feeling very satisfied, which I think is hard for a TV show to do these days.

Justified isn't as popular here in the UK but I can see it really taking off soon. The first few seasons are now available on Netflix

Revenge - 8.0 rating on IMDb

"An emotionally troubled young woman makes it her mission to exact revenge against the people who wronged her father."

I feel like I have been watching Revenge for years and years now and I have only recently caught up where I left off. This show is such a whirlwind of emotions and twists that leave you reeling after every single episode. Emily has had it rough all her life and she is seeking revenge on the people who ruined her and her father lives.

There is only a few episodes left until this season ends and I have no idea how it is all going to end but I really hope there are at least a few happy endings.

Game of Thrones - 9.5 rating on IMDb

"Several noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros."

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years, you won't need me to explain what Game of Thrones is all about! If you are a fan of everything medieval, fantasy and war then Game of Thrones is the one for you. I have read both the books and watched the series and enjoy both tremendously.

Hannibal - 8.6 rating on IMDb

"Explores the early relationship between the renowned psychiatrist and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler, who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers."

I only started watching Hannibal a few months ago and quickly got through season 1 and 2 in the matter of days, it's just that good. It's disturbing and disgusting but in the most entertaining and intriguing of ways. The TV show is a prequel to the films and you see the makings of Hannibal Lecter and what he was up to before his arrest.
