"In snow capped mountains, among the firs, The North wind blows; something stirs. Through icy water, a small fish darts - This is where her journey starts..."
We are lucky enough to work with Little Tiger Press quite often and over the past two years have collected quiet a few of their books, most of which are treasured dearly. It comes as no surprise that they have quickly become one of our favourite publishers as I think they produce the most beautiful stories both lyrically and visually and their newest release The River is just that.
Follow a little fish on her epic journey downriver as she travels out into the unknown, from fresh water rivers to the vast deep ocean. This story contains the most beautiful illustrations from Hanako Clulow, like a work of art on every page. The River isn't just nice to look at but also has a lyrical narrative, with rhyming verses and a magical moving lenticular 'swimming fish' on every page. This book is an accessible exploration of the natural world, from river to wide open sea, an ideal way to spark our little one's imagination and fascination with the world outdoors.
The River is a hardback book written by Patricia Hegarty and illustrated by Hanako Clulow. It costs £10.99 and is aimed at 3-5 year old's though Noah thoroughly enjoys it and he is only 2.
How would you like to win a copy of The River? To enter all you need to do is use the Gleam form below. Good luck and don't forget to enter my other competitions.
