This week has been the first week of Easter half term and we've packed so much into it. We started with a family day out to Blackpool on Sunday. I managed to win Merlin annual passes last year so we got to go to Madame Tussauds (Noah loved the new Marvel exhibit) and Blackpool Tower free of charge. We did plan on going to the Sealife Centre too but we ran out of time. We had such a great day, it was nice to feel a little bit of sun on our faces and cannot wait for it to finally start warming up. The rest of the week has gone by in a crazy blur, we've been so busy. We've had play dates, been on numerous walks, had an Easter egg hunt, been to an Easter party and so much more. We've not had one single lazy day, I'm worn out! I think I need a parent half term once Noah's back at nursery, ha ha.

What have you been up to this week?

  2. We had some Events to attend, one which included a fish tea:- Oh! What a great idea. We were all thrilled with the idea, and thoroughly enjoyed our fish tea. Fish suppers being from a well known (reputable) popular local fish and chip shop, mushy peas and buttered bread was even provided. Venue was a lovely new Community hub / centre.

  3. Had remembered musical event we attended recently, where a range of songs had been sung. Along with us being given the history / background to the songs, artists, etc. Nobody's Child by the Alexander Brothers was mentioned. Not sung, reason given:- Such a sad song. We had a jolly night that evening. But I could remember that Nobody's Child was a song often sang at Hogmanay / New Year. Lyrics I couldn't easily recall ( it was previous generations who were the singers. I believe families members took a turn in singing, and entertaining in years gone by). So I googled and found the lyrics. Googled and we listened to Nobody's Child by the Alexander Brothers. I recalled that we had a budgie who would dance on its perch to the Alexander Brothers music. Nice to reminisce.

  4. Our last visit to Madame Tussaud's (London) was interesting. Though unfortunately quite busy, I think what made it seem so busy was :- The obsession with "Selfies". In previous years folks would take some photos. Seems a total obsession:- Selfie with each display, slowed down flow of people through the establishment. Browsing, or returning to a favoured display:- Impossible. Just what is it with Self Promotion, used to be "Don't Blow Your Own Trumpet / Consider others / Share and Care.
Luckily have good memories of visiting Madame Tussaud's in younger years with family and friends. Can recall visiting Blackpool establishment, can recall when it was known as Louis Tussaud's.
Would consider visiting again, though not for a while, hoping that fad for "Selfies" deminishes. I much prefer the friendliness of chatting / interacting with other people:- Nice to be nice, which some people are. Unfortunately the Competitiveness aspect seems to erode the fun and interactive / friendly, no rushing or queueing element. We need to Relax, Slow Down and Smell the Flowers.

  7. We had a lovely time:- Evening out for a meal and theatre show. Transport included, as outing with an established organised group. Very well organised, delightful evening. Grateful for the group, committee, etc. Very sociable and considerate group members. Looking forward to next year, as an annual event.

  8. Fantastic photos, what a busy week, today is my 1st lazy day in weeks, a parent half term sounds amazing 😉 we went to our local country park this week to feed the ducks and play in the park, Megan kept herself to the roundabout, she loves them, Mollie enjoyed the swings and laughed at the geese eating our bread, today there are dinosaurs in town so Megan has gone with my sister and nieces as my fiance isn't to good today, and I've booked for us to go and see peter rabbit tomorrow xXx
