Join us on our Easter Egg Hunt with Learning Resources

AD - This is a PR collaboration.

We are on lockdown and #StayingIndoors this Easter, teaming up with Learning Resources, one of our favorite brands ever, for an eggciting online Easter egg hunt. It's going to be so much fun and you have the chance to win an Easter-themed prize bundle and a mystery discount!

Make sure to set a reminder for the 6th of April, then hop along to Learning Resources’ Facebook or Instagram pages to look out for all the clues. Follow the clues to find one of their favourite blogs, where you’ll need to hunt for an Easter egg to crack. Hidden inside each Easter Egg you’ll discover a letter - make sure to make note of all the letters because you’ll need them to spell out the answer to a question at the end of the hunt to enter the competition.

Learning Resources are giving away a bumper Alternative Easter Gift prize bundle to once lucky winner; 1x Coding Critters Bopper, Hip and Hop the bunnies, 1x Coding Critters Pair-A-Pets, 1x Hoppy Floppy's Happy Hunt Game, 1x Yumology! Sweets Lab, 1x Playfoam Pluffle 2-pack and 1x Playfoam Pals 2-pack. Everyone who enters the Egg Hunt will also receive a surprise discount of between 10-50% off a Learning Resources purchase on their website. Read more details here.

Are you here to find the letter in our Easter Egg? Well done - you've found it!

We're Going On An Egg Hunt

How did you enjoy the Easter bank holiday? Did you enjoy the extra quality family time and indulge in a bit too much chocolate? I know I did! We've had such a great couple of days and we really didn't want it to end. Ava was only 4 weeks old last Easter, so this years the first time she's been able to take part properly and she's been able to enjoy her first Easter egg too!

On Good Friday we were invited to our Grandparents house for a little Easter family get together and party. We were treated to gourmet burgers in brioche buns and fries, followed by apple strudel and custard. It was so good and totally worth breaking the diet for! We'd also arrange to have our annual egg hunt at the party too. Although a bit earlier that usual, the sun was shining and we were surrounded by family, it was the perfect time to do it!

After we'd all eaten it was time for the egg hunt and I was given the task of hiding 50 little chocolate eggs all around the garden. I made sure to hide eggs in all sorts of places, in easier to find places for the younger children and eggs which were a little trickier to find for the eldest. With my nephews being older than Noah and Ava they whizzed around the garden in no time, but they understood not to grab every single one and even helped them find a couple.

It was so endearing to watch them run around the garden together, looking for their chocolate eggs, and I was totally living for Ava's giggles as she chased after them. She was in her element having such freedom in the garden and although she's been a confident walker for a few months now she's only just getting used to walking outside.

Having free run of the garden really made her day, and I think she preferred that over actually finding the eggs! We have a small front garden but it's quite uneven and there's a stone path leading through it. Seeing how much she enjoyed the free space has made me want to change our garden for her. Perhaps we'll flatten the lawn and buy a new garden furniture set. Groupon have some great deals on at the moment, it's worth keeping a look out on their website.

I can just picture us now, all sat out there in Summer, having lazy days in the sun. I cannot wait for the weather to become warmer, we'll be out enjoying it every second we can!

How did you spend the Bank Holiday weekend?

Easter Activities for Toddlers

With Easter fast approaching I thought I would put together a little list of the ways Noah and I will be entertaining ourselves. I also received an email from KatchUp who wanted me to team up with their Easter Activity post too, so even more reason to share!

Egg painting
- For the kids who like to get creative!

Noah isn't usually one for messy play as he doesn't like the feel of paint on his hands. I don't let that stop us and I still encourage him by re introducing the paints every now and again. A few weeks ago I bought a ceramic egg kit from a local craft store as I thought it would be fab for a little Easter activity to do together. As there was a paintbrush included in the pack I thought it would limit the amount of mess created which would be a plus for Noah! I was right and he really did enjoy himself and I didn't have much mess to clean up either, win win!

A trip to the farm
- For the animal lovers and aspiring farmers!

We recently took a trip to Folly Farm in Wales and had one of the best days ever. Noah loves animals just as much as we do and he was intrigued by all the different animals and the different noises they made. The goats were ever so friendly and Noah couldn't stop giggling at them bleating away! I think a trip to a local farm or petting zoo's would make a lovely Easter treat for children of all ages and it's something a little bit different too.

Easter reading
- For the little bookworms!

Another of our loves as a family has got to be reading. I had already bought half a dozen books for Noah before he was even born so it's no surprise that he is such a baby bookworm. I like to buy themed books to celebrate different occasions and picked up some lovely Easter books last week. We love lazy afternoons, snuggled up with a pile of books surrounding us so if the weather isn't on our side on Easter Sunday it will be the way we spend our rainy day.

Nature trails
- For the nature babies!

Now the weather is becoming milder it's the perfect opportunity to get out and about. We really enjoy going on nature trails and outdoor adventures as a family, even more so now Noah is walking. There's nothing like a bit of exercise while you breathe in all that fresh air and it's free too!

Finger painting
For the children that like to get messy!

As I previously said Noah doesn't usually like messy play but with a little encouragement he can take that leap. Finger painting is great for making collages or even putting together some personalised Easter cards for family and friends! I am hoping to catch Noah on a good day so we can make some cards for our loved ones and even put one away in his memory box.

How will you and your children be celebrating Easter?

Our family walks

One of our favourite things to do as a family is to simply go on long walks together. It's good to get out stretch our legs, get a bit of fresh air, enjoy the scenery and to just spend quality time with one another. Our favourite place to do this is at Townley Park which is right behind the house that we are about to buy. It was one of the factors that made us want the house even more, having this beautiful park and forest right on our doorstep. Yesterday we went on a walk through Townley park, up into the forest and took a few photo's a long the way. I thought I would share some of my favourite shots from the day.

What is your favourite thing to do as a family? Do you enjoy going on family walks?

Noah's first Easter

The past couple of days have been so much fun, I've loved every second! Nick has been off work with us for the bank holiday and Easter weekend and we have taken full advantage of the extra family time!

On Good Friday we took Noah to the zoo for the very first time. It was a lovely sunny but awfully busy day! We can't wait to take him back when he is a little older so he is able to enjoy it more.

Saturday we introduced Noah to paints and made some beautifully messy Easter cards (which I will be blogging all about soon). We then spent the afternoon at the park with Noah's Auntie, Uncle and Cousin which he loved!

Easter Sunday we got up and I gave Noah his Easter present which was a cute bunny teddy in a basket. I had intended on making him an Easter basket but thought he was too young but by the time I realised I could make one suitable for his age it was too late. I was trawling through dozens of shops in town and there was hardly anything left. Next year I will have to make an extra special one as I love the whole occasion gift basket traditions that I've seen so many people do.

We then spent the afternoon visiting my Dad, his partner and my two brothers for a catch up. They had bought him a lovely teddy bear for Easter which Noah instantly took a liking to as he loves his cuddly toys. Then it was off to my Mum's for tea with my other brother and sister. My Mum was a bit unconventionally and made us a curry for a tea, which was delicious! My Mum had bought him some Easter gifts too, books and a teddy! He's a very lucky boy.

Today we have had a rather chilled out day in comparison to the past couple of days. The three of us had a lie in till around 10am and then we relaxed at home till after lunch time. We went on a lovely family walk in the woods. I took my DSLR and got some snaps too (which I will also be blogging about).

Who knows what we will be up to tomorrow! We are thinking of going somewhere on a day out though as it will be Nick's last day off before he has to return to work but I would be equally happy having a lazy day with his busy we've been lately!

What have you guys been up to over the Easter break?
