When you have a family, it can be difficult to keep your adventurous side. Of course, it is not impossible to do and if you like getting out and exploring nature then you should not stop. One of the ways to get around this is to encourage your family to go on an adventurous trip with you. This can be achieved by planning adventure holidays and enjoying activities like hiking or kayaking. In this article, we are going to discuss some of the fun adventure holidays that you can enjoy with your family. Make sure to keep reading if you’d like to find out more.

Hiking
Going on a hike is one of the easiest things that you can do to get your family outdoors. Of course, you will need to choose a suitable hike for the age range of your family and make sure that your kids are safe when they are hiking. If you want to go on a hiking holiday, then you should choose somewhere with interesting and family-friendly courses and your family will enjoy themselves. Remember to prepare for your hike, do some research and bring all of the essentials.

Kayaking
Another exciting family adventure holiday that you can go on is a kayaking holiday. Kayaking is great because it lets you and your family get close to nature while still being safe inside your kayak. There are plenty of places that you can go kayaking so make sure to do your research and find the right place for you. If you are new to kayaking, you might want to read this review for guidance on the type of kayaks that your family will need. If you have young children, you can choose a tandem kayak so that they won’t need to be in alone in a kayak.

Cycling
Cycling can be a really fun way of getting out and having an adventure when on holiday. If you are planning on taking a trip to a country that you have never been before, you will get to see parts of it that you wouldn’t have otherwise. If your family are experienced cyclists, you might want to try mountain biking which can add another level to the adventure. Make sure that you choose the right activity for your family as you want it to be fun and not too difficult. Get the right equipment for your cycling trip and you will be able to have a fun, adventurous holiday.

Final Thoughts
If you want to keep the adventurous side to you then you should make sure that you get your family involved in fun activities. You might find that they are reluctant at first but when you find the right activity, they will be more willing to try things in the future. Do your research and find activities based on the places that you are planning on going. Try out things like kayaking, hiking and cycling and you are sure to have a good time.

Family Fun With Stickle Bricks - Review

I spent so much time playing with Stickle Bricks with my siblings back when I was a child. They've remained a favourite of mine throughout the years and it's no surprise that they are still a household favourite, decades later. It makes me so happy that they are still around to this day because it means that my children get to enjoy them too, just like I did at their age. When the chance came to work with the brand, of course, I snapped it up! The kids were sent two products, the Stickle Bricks Fun Tub and the Fire Engine Set to review and I couldn't wait for them to arrive.

The first product we were sent to review we the Stickle Bricks Fun Tub. Retailing at £19.99, it would make a fantastic starter set as there's everything you need inside to start your Stickle Bricks collection. It's packed full of colourful bricks, in a variety of shapes and sizes. There are even wheels and faces! I was really impressed with the contents of the Fun Tub because having so much choice allows children to let their imagination run wild.

Stickle Bricks are suitable for 18 months+ so I was curious to see how Ava would get on with them, with her turning 18 months yesterday. I wondered if she'd be able to construct anything, or if she'd even be interested in them at all but as soon as Ava saw the box, she wanted to see what was inside. She was really excited and intrigued when she spotted the brightly coloured bricks hiding within, and it didn't take her long to figure out what to do them. They are perfect for little hands as they are easy to assemble and take apart again. They are also decent sized and very durable.

Next, we have the Stickle Bricks Fire Engine Set which retails at £16.99. This is great for a standalone set, or for adding to additional collections that you may already own. In this set are different bricks, wheels and accessories to build a fireman, fire engine and a fire station. This was more suited for Noah as it was more specific when it comes to the build, but it was very easy for him to do.

Both children have really enjoyed playing with Stickle Bricks over the past couple of days. I think this speaks volumes because there aren't many toys out there which appeal to both ages at the same time. I think that they'll enjoy Stickle Bricks for years to come and we'll definitely be buying more. Both sets are available to buy, online or instore at Amazon and Argos.

- We were sent these products for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions are my own.

On The Eve Of Your First Day At School

Well, Noah. I can't quite believe I'm writing this, but you start school tomorrow! It's true when they say that the days are long, but the years are short. I remember when you were born, thinking that we had such a long time together before I had to "send you off to school" but wow, the years have flown by!

As fast as these four and a half years have been, we've packed so much into them and have taken full advantage of having you at home, or in nursery. You've been abroad three times, once to mainland Spain, twice to Majorca. You've been to Butlins and Bluestone, Forest Holidays and Center Parcs. You've been to London, to Wales, to the Lake District, to Blackpool, and more.

It's a very surreal feeling for me as your mother, knowing what is ahead of you and although we've had six weeks to come to terms with the new chapter in your childhood, it still doesn't feel real. I don't think it will until you are in your uniform and I'm walking you to school tomorrow afternoon.

Talking about the six week holidays, I've been preparing you for school as much as I can during your time off, and with the help of the PJ Masks, no less! A couple of weeks ago we were sent a big bundle of goodies, to help you feel prepared and confident enough for your big day. I've written about a couple of the products on my social media pages (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) so make sure to check them out if you'd like to learn more about them and have a nosey at what we received. The PJ Masks First Writing Book, in particular, has been a godsend, with it being wipeable it's given you a new found confidence when it comes to writing.

Noah, you are a proper little chap now, with endless energy, charisma and personality. You're a wonderful son and an amazing big brother. I'm so proud of the little boy that you've become. You're exactly how I envisioned you to be, a little carbon copy of your Daddy. What more could I ask for?

So, that leaves me to sign off for the night. You're tucked up in bed, dreaming away, ready for the next stage in your life. Please ignore the wobble in my lip, and the tears in my eyes tomorrow, but, if you have those too, that's okay. Remember that even though you are starting school, you're still my baby and whenever your eyes well up, or your lip wobbles, I'll always be there for a kiss and a cuddle.

Helping Your Child Prepare for School

AD - This is a PR collaboration.

Starting school is a huge milestone for children. They will need to learn their way around a new building, meet new teachers, and make new friends. All of these changes can make your child feel anxious; however, there are many ways that you can help to prepare your child for starting school. Read on for some great advice from an independent school for girls.

Visit the school
In order to help your child familiarise themselves with their new school, it is important to get to know the environment as early as possible. Take your child along to open days and events at the school to help them learn their way around.

Practice your new routine
You should also try to introduce your new school routine to your child a few weeks before they start term. This will help to get them used to earlier bedtimes and earlier mornings. If you have younger children, it is particularly helpful to practise things like going to the toilet and dressing and undressing. This will help to build their confidence for when they need to do things independently at school.

Shop for school supplies
Try to get all of your school supplies as early as possible. The closer it gets to the beginning of the term, the harder it is to find! You should also make sure that your child has all of the necessary stationery items and that all of their belongings have been clearly labelled with their name.

Make a study space
To help your child feel organised and motivated to learn, you could consider making a special space in your home for them to study. Set up a desk area and additional storage, new stationery, and craft supplies. This will help to make the idea of homework seem much more fun. It can also be useful to create a family calendar to keep track of your new school activities and events. Your child can also use this calendar to add their homework deadlines and upcoming exams.

By preparing for school as early as possible, you will help your child to feel more confident and excited about starting their new school.
