Another week has been and gone so here I am, yet again! This week has been another easy going week and much of the norm. Sunday we woke to scorching heat so we spent the afternoon at Eddisford Bridge with family. Noah absolutely loved wadding through the stream, net in hand with his Dad and cousin Tristan. On Monday my Mum came to visit so we walked into town and bought a few bits. I say bought a few bits, she absolutely spoiled Noah rotten and bought him a huge Hulk toy! The rest of the week we spent a lot of time outdoors so that Noah and his best friend next door could have a play together, which is always lovely to see! It's also nice to have a chat with her Mummy too because you do miss adult conversation when you are with a toddler for most of the day. The weekend was again the usual, shopping and visiting family!

What have you been up to this week?

Oxo Tot - Review & Competition

Oxo Tot are a brand we've been following for a while now, ever since Noah started his weaning journey two years ago. We are already big fans because they offer products that are suitable from weaning through to childhood and beyond. I also believe that when you buy something from Oxo Tot you know you it's going to be great quality and at a great price too.

We were recently asked if we would like to team up with a review and was asked to choose three products from their website. I have to admit it took me a good while to decide which items to go for because there was so many different products which appealed to me. In the end I decided to go for the Flippy Snack Cup with travel cover, Divided Plate with removable ring and the Roll Up Bib.

First we have the Divided Plate with removable ring which is very reasonably priced at £8.50. I think this plate is fantastic not just for picky lunches or snacks but it also helps you balance a meal too as the sections are actually designed for protein, veggies and grains. You can remove the ring once your child has gotten the hang of self feeding too.

Flippy Snack Cup

Next up is the Flippy Snack Cup which is also priced very reasonably at just £6.00. I decided to go for this because not only did we have a holiday coming up but we are also out and about a lot and I thought it would be ideal for that reason and it really has been. It's easy to fill with your little one's favourite snacks, it's easy to grip, easy for little hands to get stuck in and most importantly, no spilled snacks! Hurray!

Last but certainly not least we have the Roll Up Bib which costs £12.00. You may think it's a little pricey for a bib but believe me it's not, it's like the king of all bibs and I wish I'd had one sooner! The bottom half of the bib is made from silicone and the wide pocket catches pretty much everything that falls out your little one's mouth! We recently took it on holiday with us and it was a godsend at meal times when we didn't want him to muck up his "going out clothes!"

We've put all three products through their paces and dare I say it, they are perfect! There isn't anything I would change about any of them! Oxo Tot has proven yet again that their products are next to none and a must have for all parents.

Do you like the sound of these products too? If you do then make sure to enter the competition below as I am giving away a set of all three! Good luck and don't forget to enter my other blog competitions

Top Activities to Do in Sicily with Children

Sicily is quickly becoming a favourite place for tourists to spend a vacation with kids. The friendly attitude of the locals towards children in particular has furthered many programs and activities that are held all over the island. It is a haven for both adults- who can delight themselves with gastronomic excursions, visits to museums and to architectural wonders dating to the time of the ancient Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and Northern Europeans- and for children of all ages who can participate in fun activities at the many water and adventure parks, nature reserves, and beaches around Sicily. More and more families who plan a vacation to Sicily are drawn to several types of accommodations other than the usual crowded motels to make their trip more enjoyable, resorting instead to the many Sicilian villas offered for rent directly by local owners- especially beachfront villas with private pools where they can relax in comfort and luxury after a long day of sightseeing.

Sicily has some of the best amusement parks in Italy, filled with water rides, roller coasters, and theme-based playgrounds. The most famous is undoubtedly Etnaland, which much like Disneyland evolves constantly providing new rides and attractions yearly. Its life-size dinosaur statues are a thrill for all children. Another speciality of Sicily is the variety of adventure parks with plenty of fun activities supervised by expert instructors - including tree climbing, obstacle courses, acrobatics, rope jumping, orienteering trails, and more. These are appropriate for children of all ages (2 yrs and up) and even toddlers as in the case of Monte Rossi Adventure Park (kids ages 0-5 and up), where parents also participate to make it a perfect family adventure. Courses are designed according to age group and level of experience. Check out Parco Avventura Madonie, where kids will also acquire an education in geology, environmental concepts, and guides to healthy living & nutrition. Guided excursions to active Mt. Etna and hiking around the craters are an adventure that every kid will love- especially the cable-ride to the top!

Don’t forget exciting water sports like surfing, kayaking, scuba-diving and some good old fashioned beach fun like kite-flying at the beaches of San Vito lo Capo, Mondello (a family favourite and safe overall due to its shallow waters), Favignana and Cefalù.

The First Smile

The moment you see the positive line on your pregnancy test is when all the milestones begin and they don't ever seem to end. There's always the next milestone to look forward to and every one of them is just as important and as special as the last.

When I was pregnant I read and heard every bit of advise under the sun, from what to use on babies bum through to how to swaddle and so on. I felt like my head was going to explode with all this information thrown at me and I naively felt prepared but once he arrived I thought
what do I do now?!

In those first few weeks I second guessed every tiny little thing that I did and I was constantly on google making sure I was doing everything the "right" way. I was continuously doubting myself and if I could turn back the clock now I would go back and tell myself "
relax, you're doing fine!"

It was as if Noah wanted to tell me that exact same sentiment because just before he turned 6 weeks old he gave me the biggest smile and I'll never ever forget it. I couldn't even if I tried cause I even managed to get it on video and I'm so thankful that I did. You can hear it in my voice how much that moment and that milestone meant to me and it's one of my favourite memories, ever.

So Mummy's and Daddy's if you ever feel like I did and sometimes still do just know that it's perfectly normal and it's just us striving to be the best parent we canbe. Believe in yourself and follow your instincts and I promise you'll get that confirmation too in your little ones smile.

Little Tiger Press - I Love My Daddy Book - Competition

Little Tiger Press are one of our favourite publishers and we've been fortunate enough to be working with them over the last couple of years. The My Little World collection is a range that keeps both Noah and I excited and intrigued and the books just keep getting better and better. The newest release from the range being I Love My Daddy.

Join a colourful cast of characters and find out why each dad deserves his shiny star in this concentric, colourful book about giving. A perfect gift for Father’s Day, it’s never too early to introduce littles ones to reading – especially when it’s with their Daddy! Reading is not only a great way to spend quality time together, but sharing books from an early age also helps children open their eyes and minds to a world of imagination. The bright artwork from Fhiona Galloway, finger holes and clever die cuts in ever decreasing stars throughout, as well as the enchanting rhyming text by Jonathan Litton makes learning come to life.

The companion title to I Love My Mummy, I Love My Daddy is the tenth title in the My Little World range; a series which has sold over 1 million books worldwide in 2 years.
