Ella's Kitchen Superhero Range - Review

Ella's Kitchen recently expanded their fantastic range by introducing us all to their brand new range of superhero themed snacks. Though primarily aimed at 3-5 year olds I accepted the offer to review them as I knew that Noah would get a long with them fine. 

Let's start with the Smooshy Snacks! Ella's Kitchen are famous for their little pouches of scrummy goodness and although you may recognise these they are a little bit different! Representing one of your child's five a day the four varieties of smoothies feature not only a fruit ingredient but a vegetable one too! Aimed to show the older kids just how cool veggies are! 

The four flavours are; orange and carrot, apple and cucumber, strawberry and beetroot and orange and pumpkin. All of which contain organic produce and no preservatives. Noah has already sampled one of each and they've all been a big hit with him, especially the orange and carrot flavour. A multipack of 4 Smooshy Snacks cost £3.49 which I think is reasonable. 

Next up we have the Fruity Bars which are just that, fruit bars! They come in a selection of three different flavours; banana and raisin, pineapple and coconut and raspberry and mango. A box of 5 Fruity Bars costs £2.50. 

Not only are the fruit bars healthy and tasty but they also contain no nasties. Each bar is simply made from fruit, crisped rice, oats, barley and flaxseeds. Noah has always enjoyed his fruit and I knew that he would enjoy these too and he has. They are great for after dinner treats or as a snack and even better for packing in your handbag when out and about. 

I can safely say that both Noah and I are very impressed with the new range from Ella's Kitchen. We love the different flavour combinations and adore the cast of superhero cartoon characters which adorn all the packing. 

Ella's remain one of our favourite brands and the fact that they have now create snacks for older children makes me happy because now I know I can continue to buy them as Noah is getting older. Yippee!

Orchard Toys - Shopping List - Review & Competition

As an official Orchard Toys tester we are lucky enough to get our paws on all the new puzzles and games from Orchard Toys. Last week we were sent the new and improved Shopping List game to review. This game is iconic to me so I really couldn't wait for it to arrive.

Included in the box are 2 shopping basket cards, 2 trolly cards, four shopping list cards (I personally love the shopping list which is on the phone!) and lots of mini product cards. Everything is superb quality as is every product from Orchard Toys. For £7.50, it's excellent value for money.

In case you don't know how the game works let me run it by you. Each player has a basket or trolly and a shopping list then take turns in selecting a product card. If the item they select is on their list they add it to their trolly and if not they put it back. Whoever fills theirs first wins! The game is aged 3-7+ and can be played with up to 4 people. 

Although Noah is only 22 months old he still managed to understand to some level and we sort of made our own game too. This is what I love about Orchard Toys, their games can be adapted and they just get better and better as your child gets older.

I cannot praise this game enough. Not only is it fun for all the family but it's also a great educational tool for the kids too, they just aren't aware of it. I can see Nick, Noah and I having years of fun with the Shopping List game.

Sunday afternoon Noah spent some time with my Mum like he does every other Sunday. When we brought him home we went for dinner at Nan's house. She made a lovely roast dinner with a home made apple crumble for desert. Was lovely spending time with the family. Here's a photo of the boys and Nick playing out in the garden.

Monday started with a bang with such beautiful weather. We enjoyed the garden to the fullest this week having many picnics out on the grass.

On Wednesday my Mum and Sister paid us a visit. We decided to go into town for lunch and did a bit of shopping too. We may have spent far too much in the shops but it's not often we have a big blow out like that. Noah was spoilt rotten but I forced my Mum to take half of it home with her to give it to him for his birthday, ha ha. It was great having that time together especially as my sister is emigrating to America soon.

Wow, Thursday the 1st of October and it felt like the height of Summer! It was beautiful sitting out in the garden. I was sat there on the bench with my eyes closed, sun shining listening to the sound of Noah splashing about and giggling (before he decided he wanted to sit in the water table of course!) He was in his element running around the garden in the nude. Absolute bliss.

Saturday we had a shopping day and visited family. Noah thought it was hilarious wearing this hat. Everyone meet Indiana Noah! 

Wood and Wonder - Wooden Till - Review & Competition

Noah and I adore wooden toys. They look fabulous, are usually great value for money and are very hard wearing too. What I love about them is that they are the type of toy which don't need all the buttons, the lights or the batteries. They really encourage your child to use their imagination and in this day and age where everything is electronic this is invaluable for both children and parents alike.  

Last week I came across a website called Wood and Wonder which is a home run business that specialise in wooden toys. I was asked if I would like to review a toy from their wonderful site and of course I obliged. 

We were sent the Wooden Till to review and couldn't wait for it to arrive. At just £14.95 it's an absolute bargain. It's made from a very sturdy wood and put together beautifully. It's painted with bright primary colours which ticks another box with me as I like to avoid pinks and blues with toys. 

The till features a credit card, a till roll, money drawer, scanner and chunky coins. It's suitable for 3 years+ but Noah has been fine with it under supervision. He doesn't often put things in his mouth but obviously I watch him when he's playing. 

Noah has had so much fun with the till already. He spent a good chunk of the evening sat at his little table, pressing the buttons and counting his coins. I can see us both having years of fun with this and it's only going to become more entertaining as he gets older. We do love a little bit of role play.
