The weather has been a little kinder to us this week and we didn't take it for granted, we made the most of it and have spent a lot of time outside. With it being the second week of Easter half term I was so glad that we weren't stuck inside. We've been on so many walks this week, a lot of them involving rock hunting! Rock hunting is a new craze which was started on social media, it's such a great idea! People find and paint rocks and then hide them in local parks for children to find. The photo of Noah with the Kinder Surprise is actually a painted rock believe it or not! If you'd like to know more about rock hunting I'd recommend searching for groups on Facebook or asking friends. We collected some rocks this week and will be painting and hiding our own soon. Maybe I'll do a little blog post about it!

In other news we had baby group this week. Usually it's just Ava and I but with Noah being off for half term he came with us. He was really excited to go and really enjoyed himself. I think that just shows how fantastic Hartbeeps is. We then had lunch in the cafe, a stroll around the allotments and then my Mum came and met us there for the afternoon. The sun was shining and overall it was one amazing day. It's made me so excited for Summer and warmer days.
The rest of the week was spent doing work on the house, having play dates, trips to the park, shopping, visiting family, the usual really.

What have you been up to this week?

We Are Baby Swimologists - Win a £50 Konfidence Voucher - Competition

Last month we had a much needed week away at
Whinfell Forest Center Parcs. I honestly cannot recommend the place enough, we had such an amazing time and we really didn't want to come home. There's just something about getting away from it all, with your family, surrounded by nature, wildlife and acres of woodland. There's also so much to do when you're there. There's shops, restaurants, soft plays, parks, arcades, bowling, swimming and so much more. All located in the heart of the forest.

One of our favourite things to do was to visit the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. There's an array of different things to enjoy whilst there, from baby splash pools, wave pools, jacuzzies and even water slides. It had such a family-friendly atmosphere and we went every day. I saw both Noah and Ava's confidence around water grow during every visit. Seeing how much they enjoyed themselves has made me want to prioritise swimming for them. It was time to invest in more baby swimwear for them to really gain their swimming legs.

Just before our visit I'd actually applied to be a Konfidence Swimologist. It was an opportunity that usually I'd shy away from with my nerves around water but I knew what a valuable experience it would be. Whilst on our trip I had the news that we'd been offered the role and I was absolutely delighted. It couldn't have happened at a better time, it was like it was meant to be.

In case you didn't know, Konfidence are Europe's leading designers and manufacturers of baby swimming and learn to swim products for children and adults. From baby swimwear to children's buoyancy, wet suits and sun protection clothing, they have everything you need for fun and safe safety in the pool, sun and sea. They are the best of the best and recommended by most parents I know.

As baby Swimologists for 2018 we will be sent lots of different Konfidence products to try out and review here on the blog. Ava will also have a term of baby swim lessons courtesy of Konfidence so she can try the products out first hand. We'll also be booking a term for Noah and Konfidence have kindly included him by sending one of their famous Original Konfidence Jackets for him to use.

To celebrate our new role I've got a £50 Konfidence voucher to giveaway to one lucky reader. You can spend this on anything you like from swim nappies, through to swim suits and even swim toys! We're Going On An Egg Hunt

How did you enjoy the Easter bank holiday? Did you enjoy the extra quality family time and indulge in a bit too much chocolate? I know I did! We've had such a great couple of days and we really didn't want it to end. Ava was only 4 weeks old last Easter, so this years the first time she's been able to take part properly and she's been able to enjoy her first Easter egg too!

On Good Friday we were invited to our Grandparents house for a little Easter family get together and party. We were treated to gourmet burgers in brioche buns and fries, followed by apple strudel and custard. It was so good and totally worth breaking the diet for! We'd also arrange to have our annual egg hunt at the party too. Although a bit earlier that usual, the sun was shining and we were surrounded by family, it was the perfect time to do it!

After we'd all eaten it was time for the egg hunt and I was given the task of hiding 50 little chocolate eggs all around the garden. I made sure to hide eggs in all sorts of places, in easier to find places for the younger children and eggs which were a little trickier to find for the eldest. With my nephews being older than Noah and Ava they whizzed around the garden in no time, but they understood not to grab every single one and even helped them find a couple.

It was so endearing to watch them run around the garden together, looking for their chocolate eggs, and I was totally living for Ava's giggles as she chased after them. She was in her element having such freedom in the garden and although she's been a confident walker for a few months now she's only just getting used to walking outside.

Having free run of the garden really made her day, and I think she preferred that over actually finding the eggs! We have a small front garden but it's quite uneven and there's a stone path leading through it. Seeing how much she enjoyed the free space has made me want to change our garden for her. Perhaps we'll flatten the lawn and buy a new garden furniture set. Groupon have some great deals on at the moment, it's worth keeping a look out on their website.

I can just picture us now, all sat out there in Summer, having lazy days in the sun. I cannot wait for the weather to become warmer, we'll be out enjoying it every second we can!

How did you spend the Bank Holiday weekend?

Trolls Poppy True Colours Styling Head Station - Review

Trolls has got to be one of Noah's favourite films at the moment and his love of Poppy, Branch and Smidge just seems to grow and grow. Just last week we were having a play date and Noah and his best friend would only answer me if I referred to them as Poppy and Branch! When the opportunity came to review the Poppy Styling Head Station I had to apply as I thought it would be something that Noah would really enjoy, and something that's completely different to any of his other toys.

When the Poppy True Colours Styling Head arrived I was really impressed and so was Noah. You could see the quality straight away, it's a solid and well made toy that you know is going to handle a bit of rough and tumble from the kids. It's attractive, brightly coloured and just like the character in the movie but with super cool rainbow coloured hair!

Included with the styling head is Poppy's signature headband, styling comb, four hair ties and four hair clips. All of which can be removed and worn in your little one's hair. I must mention that the hair ties are very tiny so it may be worth grabbing a packet of little bobbles from the shops so then you have a backup if they go missing.

Noah was very excited to start styling and decided to practice combing her hair first. He called out the different colours that he could see in her hair and tried to separate it with the comb, all whilst spiking it up. He then decided to remove her bobble and add a couple of clips. He did need a little help with them as they are a little fiddly but he soon got the hang of them.

The Styling Head has two different types of hair. The hair in the ponytail is quite fluffy and troll like, with some material embedded into it. I presume this is to help it to stick up, but it does make it a bit tricky to comb. Her fringe on the other hand is traditional doll hair which makes it easier to style and gives you more freedom.

When Ava woke from her nap she wanted to get involved too and Noah asked if we could put Poppy's headband on her. This of course made him laugh lots and he's now insisting that I buy her a Poppy costume to go with it! Ava is too young to be able to enjoy Poppy with all the little bits and pieces but she is always giving the styling head big kisses and tries to brush her hair.

The Trolls Poppy True Colours Styling Head Station is suitable for kids age 3+ and retails at very reasonable £24.99. It's brought to you by Flair and is available to buy online and in most good toy stores.

April is #StylingHeadMonth and at 1-2pm on Friday 13th April @UKMums.tv are hosting a Twitter Frenzy to mark the occasion! There will be lots of prizes up for grabs so it's worth making a note of the date! Maybe I'll see you there!

- We were sent this product for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
