Project 365 - Week 47 - 47/52

15th November - 21st November / Week 47

The weather was absolutely dreadful on Sunday so unfortunately we didn't have any outdoors adventures but we did visit family. We spent some time with Noah's Great Grandparents which are honestly the nicest people in the world. We love them so much.

320
Monday both Noah and I were unwell, still. Both smothered in a cold and both a bit grumpy too! I think this photo pretty much sums up how we were feeling this day, haha.

One of my favourite things to do is to watch Noah play. His imagination is coming on leaps and bounds at the moment and the way he plays has changed so much. He will actually sit down for longer and really play with his toys rather than just throw them about aimlessly.

With being unwell this week it's really tested both Noah and I. As soon as he turned two it was like a switch was flicked and he does seem to be pushing his luck a bit more at the moment. My Mum came to visit on Wednesday which was lovely.

Another shot of Noah playing with his toys because I just can't get enough of it. I love watching him play and seeing him stuff his ark with a dozen Sylvanian Families really made me giggle. He calls all the female one's Mama and all the male's are Dada's! So sweet.

On Friday Nick finished half day so when he got home we went shopping and visited family again. He loves spending time with his family so we make sure to take him to see different relatives numerous times a week.

325
Saturday we woke up to a little frost and you could really feel the chill in the air. We went out for lunch as a family, for a little shop about and then to the park. It was a nice and easy going day albeit a cold one!

What have you been up to this week?

Emigrating to America

Emigrating has always been a dream of mine but that's all it has been for me, a dream. Although I would love to move to another country I know it's not feasible for us with a small child, a mortgage and deeps roots in the UK but someone close to me made has recently made her dreams a reality. Last month I said goodbye to my little sister who emigrated to America.

When my sister told me she was planning on moving over there I was in denial a little as I didn't think it would happen. My sister is 8 years younger than me and she's the youngest in our family so has always been seen as the baby. With that in mind I thought the idea of her moving away would just be a phase but it wasn't. My sisters dream of emigrating came true and although I already miss her so much we are all so proud of her.

Preparing to make such a big move takes months and months of preparation and is a longer process than you think. With her move overseas fresh in our minds I thought I would put together a post on some of the tips she used to make the process a little smoother.

Be organised-
Emigrating and moving abroad is so complex and not as straight forward as either of us imagined to begin with. There is so much to remember and making check lists of everything you need to do, to arrange, to pack, to save is endless so preparation is key. Having lists to revert back to really helped my sister and is her number one tip.

Complete paperwork-

Along with the endless lists is the endless paperwork, they go hand in hand. It's quite difficult to be accepted for a visa to another country and there is so much paperwork you need to fill out. You also have to go through many checks including a major health check. There are also different interviews you need to attend and so much more. It only felt real to my sister and I when she finally got her visa and she was able to really start planning the move.

Travel and Health Insurance-
One thing that didn't cross my sisters mind is how she would need travel and health insurance. I don't know why because it's the norm to buy insurance policies when you go on holiday so why we didn't think the same when it came to emigration, I don't know. It's so important to buy International Health Insurance and my sister bought three years back to back to cover her for the first few years of living over there. To know you have the insurance in case something goes wrong is such a great peace of mind.

My sister has been living in America for a month and her and her partner have so many plans already, it's so exciting to listen to her tales and adventures. Next year they plan on buying long term van hire and travelling across the States. This is another dream of mine and one day I hope I can follow in her footsteps. Perhaps we will never emigrate ourselves but I am sure we can go on a road trip or two!

The Reward Box - Review & Competition

Recently I was contacted asking if we would like to review The Reward Box. With Noah turning 2 last week and with the terrible two's and tantrums on the horizon the opportunity couldn't of come at a better time.

The idea behind The Reward Box is rather straight forward and a fun and unique take on the traditional sticker reward charts. At the moment it comes in two different designs, a pirate chest and a fairy house both of which are beautifully crafted and made from solid wood. Included is an organza bag of 20 silver wooden stars, stickers to personalise your box if you wish and also IOU cards.

The Reward Box is suitable from the moment you think your child would understand the concept and to 5 years and onwards. I can think of many different ways this reward system could work and our first port of call will be with potty training. Every time Noah goes to the potty we will pop a star in to the chest and once it's full he will be given a nice treat. I much prefer this concept than the typical sticker charts as it's more fun and the product itself is beautiful.

The Reward Box costs £35 which on paper I would of thought was rather pricey but upon receiving the product I would of been more than happy to pay that price as everything is such fantastic quality.

I'm so impressed with The Reward Box as it's not just a good idea in theory but it's an idea that works, an idea that will interest your child and an idea that will be used for years to come!

I have teamed up with The Reward Box to run a competition along side this review and I am so excited to be able to offer you guys this chance! How would you like to win The Reward Box in your choice of design? To enter all you need to do is use the Rafflecopter form below! Good luck and don't forget to check out my other competitions
