Guilty pleasures, hot weather and trash TV - #littleloves

Read
Can you believe that 5 months later I am still reading Divergent? By the time I crawl into bed at night it's way past midnight and too late to read. That being said I do try to squeeze in a chapter here and there but usually end up nodding off. I miss reading like I used to, I was such a bookworm.

Watched
If you know me then you will know my guilty pleasure of reality tv shows. Lately I have be glued to the screen not just watching Big Brother but Love Island too, slightly embarrassing but there you go! I'm really hoping that Nick win's BBUK this year as he's such a gentle and nervous soul, I just want to mother him!

Wore
With it being so hot lately I have been trying to keep cool in summer dresses and shades. Though I do need to purchase some new sun glasses from Optical Express as Noah decided to borrow mine and I have no idea what he has done with them.

Heard
Another guilty pleasure is this song! Has it got stuck in your head yet?

Made
I've lost count of the amount of picnics I've made these past couple of weeks. With the weather being so nice we've been making the most of it by getting out and about every day. We've been taking our lunch to go and have been enjoying our picnics here, there and everywhere.

And lastly
Summer is here! Finally!
We've transformed our front garden into a little haven for Noah and his friends. We have a slide, water table and paddling pool and they have all been having a blast.

Have you been enjoying the weather?

Read
I've finally read a few more chapters in Divergent! Finally! I'm going to bed way too late which annoys me but because I'm stubborn I insist on reading a couple of chapters, despite being shattered!

Watched
I just finished watching season two of Mistresses and I absolutely loved it! At first I thought the acting was terrible and the plot lines were so predictable but as the seasons progressed it just got better and better. I literally cannot wait for season three but I'm sad that one of the leading actresses won't be returning. I'm interested to see if they write her out of the show or if they hire another actress to play her, only time will tell.

The weather has been so hit and miss lately that I've worn an array of different outfits from summer dresses through to jumpers and jeans. What usually happens is I peek out the window in the morning and because it looks cold I will dress accordingly. Then about an hour later the sun comes out and I have to change out of my sweater into a blooming dress! Make your mind up weather. I am also totally obsessed with personalising our outfits - this website has the best custom patches to buy on the internet. There are so many cool patches to choose from and so many different ways to use them too.

Noah on the other hand has been showing me up on the fashion front. Yesterday we were getting ready to go for a walk and he went and found his hat and insisted in wearing it despite it being sunny. Little trend setter in the making!

Heard
Possibly our worst ever Eurovision entry, ever! How come every year we just don't seem to get it right? We always enjoy watching Eurovision and always have a little celebration when it's on. This year we had a few nibbles and some prosecco which went don't a treat! For us Graham Norton's candid commentary is what makes the show for us, he's hilarious!

Made
I made it! I finally lost my first stone on Slimming World. It's taken a lot longer than I expected but I've finally made it. If I had been more strict with myself and hadn't had half a dozen cheat days I could of lost 2 stone by now but I'm trying to be positive! I'm on the right track.

And lastly
We are about to book our first family holiday! We have been browsing for weeks now and are struggling to decide on where to go but we are definitely taking Noah abroad for the first time this year. We are aiming to go in September and would love to go back to Majorca as it's perfect for little ones, white sand, shallow waters and a short flight time! Hope we decide on something soon!

What have you been up to lately?

Hot chocolate, cloth nappies and uptown funk! 4/52 - #littleloves

Another week has flown by in the blink of an eye. Here is my 4th week filled with some of my little loves!

Read
I promised to start reading a book last week and have I? Nope. I'm kicking myself. I promise I will start one soon but I am struggling to find time to do anything at the moment. I certainly need to learn how to priorities my time better.

Watched
I'm still hooked on Celebrity Big Brother and I can't believe how much drama there has been this year. It's emotionally draining for a viewer to watch nevermind those poor folks living in there.

I have also been watching American Horror Story which is as crazy and disturbing as ever. The final season of Justified has just begun too so that's something to look forward to each week, I love that show.

Wore
I haven't been wearing anything interesting really, nothing new to report on other than my usual thick knits and leggings! It's far too cold to be even thinking about wearing anything else.

A little of the same for Noah really. He has been under the weather he's been wearing babygrows during the day because I didn't want to be having to faff about with outfits when he's isn't well. It's all about being comfortable when you are poorly.

He has also been rocking lots of cloth nappies this week! I wish we had started our cloth nappy journey a lot sooner but better late than never.

Heard
Noah and I are both obsessed with Uptown Funk. Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson always seem to get it right! We've been singing and dancing to this song a lot this week!

Made
Lots and lots of hot chocolate! I'm not usually a hot chocolate person and usually drink latte's or tea but I can't seem to get enough. It's got to have marshmallows though!

And lastly
Noah is walking!!!!!!!!

Loving the little things - 3/52 - #littleloves

I'm a little late this week but better late than never. Here are my loves from this week.

Read - Again I haven't read or started reading a book this week and this needs to change. I used to always have my nose in a good book but I struggle to find time these days. There needs to be more hours in the day. I promise to start a book before the month is over!

Watched - I have been totally hooked on the american drama show Justified but after so many marathons I have now caught up. I've been having serious withdrawals but the new series starts in just two days, yay!

I have also been watching Celebrity Big Brother and have become slightly addicted! How crazy is it this year, seriously?! 2 people have been kicked out, 1 person has walked and 1 person has been evicted. Perez Hilton is totally driving me insane. He doesn't seem right in the head in my opinion and I find it slightly worrisome that he has a small child.

Wore - I'm still wearing my trusted thick knits and cosy leggings and I don't see that changing anytime soon as it's far too cold to wear anything else. Noah outfits are a lot more interesting than mine and he's worn some super cute things this week. My favourite being his new lounge wear which consists of a soft jersey batman sweater and grey joggers as they look so comfortable! He has also been wearing pieces from his Box Upon a Time box which I will be blogging about soon.

Heard - Disney Jnr - Get up and dance. Noah is a Disney baby and if the channel is on in the background he's happy. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Sophia the First. He has never really been a fan of being in the car so a few weeks back I picked up the Disney Jnr CD and we now play it every time we are driving. Safe to say Nick and I know the words to every song on that CD already. It does drive us a little crazy but anything to keep Noah happy whilst we are in the car.

Made - I've been enjoying a spot of baking this week and whipped up my first ever batch of chocolate brownies last night. For a first attempt I thought they were really good and I am going to start experimenting with different ingredients and flavours. What is your favourite type of brownie?

And lastlySnow! We have been lucky enough to have snow pay us a visit in the north west. Noah hadn't seen snow yet so it was great to be able to take him out to see it for the first time. As he isn't walking yet he was sat in the pram so I put together a little snowball for him to explore. He seemed to really like looking at his white topped surroundings and he had a huge smile on his face.

Well that's it for now, see you next week!

Loving the little things - 2/52 - #littleloves

It's that time of the week, it's time to link up with one of my favourite linkies, Little Loves. Here are my little loves for the past week.

Read - No books for me this week but I am itching to get my nose stuck into a good story. I'm really struggling to find the time as I stay up way too late blogging as it is. Why aren't there more hours in the day?
I have been having my reading fix through my favourite blogs though and a post that really reached out to me this week was this post from Emma over at Me, The Man and the Baby. I hope she finds some answers soon but while she waits she should take comfort in knowing that D couldn't of asked for better parents, they are amazing.

Watched - I'm still totally hooked on Justified which is a drama set in southern America. How can you not love a southern accent, wannabe cowboys and Timothy Olyphant? I have almost caught up and at the end of season five so I will be up to date when the final series starts at the end of January. Don't you just hate it when you discover a new show, become addicted, have numerous marathons and then realise it's on it's last season. It happens to me all the time. (One of the lead actresses on the show actually fav'd one of my tweets on twitter this week - amazing that cast members actually search their show and read the tweets!)

Wore - I've had a pretty lazy week as it's been far too cold to venture outside very often. I've been taking advantage of being able to lounge around not only in my comfy oversize jumpers and jeggings but in a pair of Nick's PJ's that he was bought for Christmas. I received a pair myself but naturally his are comfier and well he isn't going to wear them! What's yours is mine and what mine is my own and all that jazz! Ha ha.

Heard - Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake. Noah learnt a new word and is obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates. If I dare watch anything else on TV he will find the remote and point it into my face until I turn it back on for him. I swear I am having nightmares of that theme tune..

"Just off the shores of Neverland a hideaway at sea! Yo ho! Yo ho! Lets go!"

Made - Art! Well Noah did, sort of. Noah has only ever used paints once before so when I spotted his finger paints in one of the boxes from the move I just had to get them out. He wasn't too keen on getting the paint on his hands and did grimace a lot so I had to encourage him, He did loosen up a bit eventually and I shot a video of him having a good old chat about his painting, pointing at all the blobs and smears. He did have more fun trying to wipe the paint off his tray with the paper though to be honest. We are going to make more time for messy play that's for sure.

And lastly - I gave the blog a makeover! Did you notice? Do you like it? I was tired of the old design and wanted a more basic yet professional looking theme. I'm really happy with it considering I did it myself and I had no clue what I was doing!

Well, that's it for now, see you next week!

Loving the little things - 1/52 - #littleloves

I am always seeing people taking part in numerous linkies throughout the year and it's always something I've wanted to be involved in. This year I am going to attempt to take part in a couple different linkies every week and see how I get on.

Today I stumbled across a linky called #littleloves and it's brought to you by Morgana over at But Why Mummy Why. It sounds like lots of fun so here are my first set of #littleloves for the first week of the year.

Read - I used to be such a book worm but since becoming a Mum I rarely get the chance now. I read more blogs than books and my favourite posts this week are from Alex who writes Bump to Baby. She has just started sharing her pregnancy journey with us all and it's so exciting!

Watched - I am absolutely obsessed with American TV shows and I enjoy nothing more than getting stuck into a new series. Over the Christmas period I started watching a show called Justified and I am hooked. I am on season 5 already and I cannot get enough of Timothy Olyphant.

Wore - Big thick jumpers, leggings and ugg boots, every day. Nothing like a big thick jumper when it's so cold and as I've put on weight they are also something to hide underneath too.

Heard - Noah's voice. He's always been a chatterbox but mainly babbling and baby language with the odd Dada and Mama throw into the mix. Lately, he is really trying to repeat the words you say and he's certainly added more words to his vocabulary this week which are Jake and Mickey. You can't tell what TV channel he watches, can you? Ha ha.

Made - Numerous roast dinners! We love our roast dinners in this house and it's one of Noah's favourite meals! The photo is of Noah's plate and believes it or not he pretty much ate the entire thing. He likes everything on there but his favourite is probably the parsnips and stuffing.

And Lasty - I don't know what day it is! Nick has been off for work over Christmas and all the days have blurred into one! Noah was a little confused at first with why Daddy was at home with us but he's really enjoyed it. Nick has two more days off now and then it back to work for him, back to reality!
