Family Favourites - April

I have decided to start sharing our monthly favourites with you all after seeing my good friend Nicola from Life Through My Eyes post all about hers, it's such a great idea!

Here are our family's favourites from April-

Mummy -

TV shows. After doing my nightly chores and my blogging I like to settle down and watch a TV show or two. In March I finally caught up with Revenge and now in April I am just finishing watching the last few ever episodes of Justified.

Slimming World. I started my Slimming World journey a month ago. I timed it great, at Easter so all the chocolate is torturing me but I have managed to resist, most of the time!

Divergent. I watched the first film a few nights ago and I am hooked. I have just bought the trilogy on itunes and cannot wait to get stuck in.

Daddy -

Chocolate. He has been eating an insane amount of chocolate this Easter, I think he has a problem!

The Walking Dead. I love my TV shows but the only one Nick is interested in is TWD and he has been enthralled this season.

Pizza topped chicken. Nick has been eating Slimming World meals with me and I made Pizza topped chicken for the first time last week and he hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Noah -

Mama! He must say Mama 50 times a day on average. Continuously calling my name and bossing me around. Little tyke.

Going on adventures. As soon as we have finished our breakfast in the morning he brings me his shoes and coat and points to go outside. He loves being outdoors and exploring.

Apples. Noah has always loved fruit and eats so much of it. As he doesn't have many teeth I have always avoided apples because whenever he's had them he's always gagged. With his molars now coming through I have been giving him whole apples and he nibble on it for ages and really enjoys them.

What are your family favourites this month?

Project 365 - Week 18 - 18/52

26th April - 2nd May / Week 18

116
When Noah came back from an afternoon at his Nanna's I cooked up a roast dinner and we went for a long evening stroll. Bliss.

117
Monday, play group! The sun was shining so we took advantage of all the outdoor toys. Noah was obsessed with this car.

118
Tuesday was a lazy day and we spent the day playing and reading.

119
I don't think I will ever get over how much Noah loves his Ted. One of the most important values to teach a child is how to love and respect animals and it makes me ever so proud to see Noah be so gentle with them.

120
He is beautiful isn't he? I'm not just biased.

121
Noah in his Winnie the Pooh costume that I won. How cute?!

122
I've seriously bought way too many cloth nappies this week. This is one of my all time favourite prints. It's called Louis and is from Bumgenius. Don't tell Nick I paid £23 for it.

Mummy & Me - April

We are at the end of April already, wow. How did that happen? April has been a great month for us, we've had so much fun. The weather has been perfect and we have been spending most out time outdoors, exploring and going on long walks. There's something about those first few weeks of sun after a gloomy Winter isn't there?

Here is our photo for April. We had drove to St Anne's for the afternoon as the weather was fantastic. Noah had been to the beach before but had never put his toes in sand. I was excited to see how he would find it and it's safe to say he hated it. He physically cringed and clung to me every time I attempted to stand him on the sand. We ended up putting his shoes back on after a while so he would have a toddle about. What are they like?!

It's rather embarrassing that I am wearing the same dress than I did in last months photo but I wasn't thinking that far ahead. The photo was a candid one too as I didn't know Nick was taking it. I was trying to show Noah that sand is nothing to worry about and as you can tell by his face he wasn't having any of it!

See you next month!

Project 365 - Week 17 - 17/52

19th April - 25th April / Week 17

109
Sunday afternoon I spent prepping for Real Nappy Week 2015. Sorting the nappies, planning blog posts and so on. Noah had his usual Sunday afternoon as his Nanna's.

110
Monday was the start of our very first Real Nappy Week and our first nappy of the week was Hey Diddle Diddle from Totsbots! This was a nappy they kindly sent me to try out and it's been great so far, post coming soon. The print is one of my favourite's too, ever so cute.

111
Tuesday saw glorious weather and we made the most of it by walking to our local nature reserve and park. We had lunch outside in the sun and it seriously felt like we were in Spain!

112
Wednesday we met up with friends and one of her boys. We had a picnic on the grass and watched the boys toddle about together. We then went for a very long walk and tired the boys out.

113
Thursday saw us at the park again! It's a good walk to get there and it felt good that I managed to get there three days in a row. I took Noah on his SmarTrike and Daddy met us after he finished work.

114
Friday I felt a little lethargic and a little nostalgic too so Nick took Noah out and I decided to be productive. I sorted through all Noah's old clothes ready for the attic. I did feel a little teary looking through all his teeny tiny newborn clothes.

115
Saturday we went shopping and visited family. Noah loved trotting around the shops and he picked up a pocket square and managed to sneak it in our basket! A true gent. A bowler hat and a pocket square!

What have you been up to this week?

Real nappy week, sunshine and netflix - 17/52 - #littleloves

Read
I'm still reading Divergent but I haven't got very far into into it yet. I keep losing track of the time and it's always way too late to read very far. I really need to make more time for it because I loved the film so much.

Watched
As a member of the Netflix Stream Team I am always having a browse through for new shows and films to watch and I stumbled across a Netflix original show this week, it's called Bloodline. I'm about half way through the series now and it's been really gripping but in a slow and tender way, if that makes sense. I can't wait to see how everything is going to turn out.

Wore
It's been scorching hot and that meant I was able to wear dresses without a jacket or a cardigan, it's been lovely. I have still been wearing tights and leggings though because I don't want to frighten the whole of Lancashire with my bright white legs!

Noah has been enjoying the sun too and has been slathered with factor 50 every single day. I love seeing him in his little shorts and tshirts with his skinny little arms and legs on show.

Heard
"All of us deserve the right to be loved for who we are" - Bruce Jenner

I have just finished watching the Bruce Jenner interview where he bravely announced to the world that he is a woman. This quote in particular really tugged at my heart strings and I am in total awe of him. I hope his actions and announcement gives courage to others who feel the same way.

Made
I made a little progress with organising the house, if that counts for something? Ever since the move and the renovation everything has been up in the air and nothing really has a place just yet. The house is somewhat organised but there are things that have been irritating me and one of those were the bags and bags of Noah's old clothes that I just stashed away in the closet. On Friday I decided to sort through it all and put everything into size order and I felt so emotional looking at all his teeny tiny clothes, he's huge now!

And lastly
This week is Real Nappy Week, in case you didn't know! It's been my first and it's been so much fun taking part in all the offers, competitions and general cloth nappy celebrations!

Project 365 - Week 16 - 16/52

I cannot believe how fast these weeks are flying by. The weather this week has been good but not as warm as last week. We've had another busy week and made some fantastic memories.

12th April - 18th April / Week 16

102
Spot the cat, spot the baby!

103
On Monday we both slept through out alarm and was late for playgroup, oops! We managed to catch the last hour and then went to soft play too. It was a great day.

104
Another day, another walk. This has to be one of my favourite photo's of Noah. He looks so so cheeky.

105
Noah now has 3 molars coming through all at once and so far he hasn't complained. I love this shot of his pearly whites.

106
Thursday it was Noah's Great Nan's 80th birthday and it was a wonderful night. We ate at a Michelin Star restaurant (for free!) and had plenty of wine too. It was lovely celebrating in this special way for possibly the most incredible person in the world. We didn't get home until after 10 pm and Noah was good as gold the whole night. As soon as we got home he went straight to bed without a fuss.

107
I received some very exciting fluffy mail from Totsbots on Friday! Perfect timing for Real Nappy Week!

108
Saturday we spent the afternoon at the seaside. It was a lovely warm day but there was a cool breeze. This was the first time Noah had been on sand and he really wasn't a fan of it. He would hold his legs up in the air so then I wouldn't stand him up on it and he clung to me like a bat, it was really cute. Once I put his shoes on he was fine walking about, he just wasn't a fan of the texture on his feet. I love his little quirks.

Divergent, an 80th Birthday and Michelin Stars - 16/52 - #littleloves

Another week, another little loves! I can't believe we are at week 16 already! 16 weeks into 2015! Madness.

Read
I gave up reading the book I mentioned last week, not by a fault of it's own but because I bought the Divergent Series. After watching the film last weekend I just had to buy the books! I've just started reading the first installment and I'm only a few chapters in.

Watched
As I mentioned above I finally got round to watching Divergent and I really, really enjoyed it. It was a bit cheesy in places but it was great.

I also watched the very last episode of Justified. As a rule I am never really happy with finale's. I think they are so hard to get right and it's impossible to please everyone but Justified's ending was pretty much perfect. Justified isn't a very well known TV show in this country but I couldn't recommend it enough.

Wore
I would like to say I've worn something really trendy this week but I haven't! I've mainly been in leggings with my hair in a bun! Maybe when I have lost a bit of weight I might start dressing a little better, ha ha.

Noah on the other hand dressed very suave for a party we attended this week!

Heard
"We dug coal together." The final quote in one of my favourite shows, another nod to Justified. It's an end of an era!

Made
Again lots of home cooked and Slimming World friendly meals such as Chilli, Spaghetti Bolognese, Roast Dinner, Pasta etc etc. Nothing terribly exciting.

And lastly
It was Noah's Great Nan's 80th birthday on Friday so on Thursday we went out for a meal to celebrate the occasion. We ended up going to a Michelin Star restaurant and I sampled some of the most incredible and the strangest food I have ever tasted! I also had a full bottle of Pinot Grigo too so it's safe to say that I totally went off plan when it came to Slimming World! Worth it though!

Project 365 - Week 15 - 15/52

Wow, what lovely weather have we had this week? It was like Summer had come early, not too hot and certainly not cold. Noah and I have made the most of the weather and spent many hours out basking in the sun.

5th April - 11th April / Week 15

95
Easter! Noah received way too many chocolate eggs and even got a few cuddly toys too, very spoiled. I think we will have enough chocolate to last us months!

96
Bank Holiday Monday saw beautiful weather and we spent it at the park with Noah's Uncle, Auntie and Cousin and of course Daddy and I. The park had set up a huge Easter Egg hunt and the kids had so much fun and were rewarded with a chocolate bunny at the end of it.

97
There's no way we were stopping in this week when the weather was so glorious. This field is just a 5 minute walk from our house and is the perfect place for Noah to roam.

98
This photo was taken on one of our walks. There are allotments at the end of the street we live on and a stream runs right through them. Noah and I love walking down there in the morning and watching the water trickle by. It's just such a shame it's private land and we can't go and dip our toes in that water!

99
On Thursday I decided to take Noah to visit his Nan. She was looking after her young god daughter but Noah's two cousins were off school too so it was nice for them all to get together and play with one another.

100
Nick finishes work at lunch time on Fridays so we always try to do something in that spare time. This week we took a drive to a lovely place called Eddisford Bridge. We thought we would treat Noah to an ice cream as it was lovely and warm. Much to our amazement he turned down the ice cream and chose an apple over it! Crazy, crazy baby.

101
Out and about yet again, we took Noah to the park. It was absolutely freezing on Saturday, where has the nice weather gone? It was time to bring the bobble hat and body warmer back out! Hopefully the nice weather returns on Monday.
